  • Thanks for this Carl .. Just wonderful . Boy if they dont like your voice I have to stop singing all together ! You have a wonderful voice that fits these songs .. Oh by the way its James Ashborn not George .. His shop was about 12 miles from here in a part of Torrington Ct that was called Walcottville at the time .. He was an English luthier who moved here in the 1840's (I think ) . I have one of his Guitars of which he made a very large number !! All the best , Guy

  • Its true, your voice does sound like a dying cat, but that is what makes it so great! ha ha. Thanks guys, keep posting these wonderful songs!

  • Kudos for a real skin head and gut strings. All good banjos should require a sacrifice.

  • Good on you for doing the original. Changing the content to be politically correct does more damage than singing the original lyrics. History was not politically correct, it was what it was. Racism was in the music at the times and blackface was popular entertainment. People should know the truth, if only to gauge how entertainment and culture has changed.

  • Carl, I've said it before and now I'll say it again, I always feel a little more honest after listening to your music. Is it my imagination or have you been away for a while?
