IMO one of the best castlevania games in the series. The music is amazing, the gameplay was epic and it was one of the first games that got me into the story. (fucking froze after he killed sarah and yelled her name first words out of my mouth "god damn it! It was gettin good.")

I remember finishing it then finishing it again as Joachim(badass weapon system he has). 7 years later I've started a game on crazy mode and am playing it now and then when I have time. @alxxz Lament of Innocence is its own game. It's certainly not 'small and linear' and has a decent amount of SOTN-like exploration, as well as secrets/puzzles/whatever. It has its share of action, in fact Lords of Shadow actually takes a lot more from it than the people calling it a 'god of war clone' seem to believe, although LoI completely owns it in terms of music.

LoI has some of its own problems but it's very Castlevania and definitely worth playing.

@alxxz Mate, this is most definitely a true castlevania game, it is a linear game (as the classic NES and SNES Castlevania was) But you can say it it's a line that has lots of twists and turns and even a few lines that branch out from it. There is plenty of exploration and secrets to be unlocked, you aren't going to pass the game completely by running straight through it, there is a lot of back tracking and returning to past areas. You cannot compare this to GOW, this is truly a Castlevania game
