Hopefully, United Airlines will put the new Boeing 787 'Dreamliner' into service on the New York/Newark-Amsterdam route when it takes delivery of enough of those new airplanes. The 787 will not have the performance issues that the Boeing 757s currently flying the route have as the former will be far more super-efficient than the latter. I also hope United will start new nonstop San Francisco-Amsterdam serivce with the 'Dreamliner'.

@manbal100 As far as i know they only use 777's to Amsterdam in autumn and winter that's because in that period the amount of fuel that is needed increases with big loads and is more expensive.

the 757 isn't designed for long distance travelling, but is capable of doing it.
