  • Beautiful song, one of my favorites for a long time. But it's not a b-side (that would require it accompanying an a-side single).

  • Nobody gets this song live?

  • is the waiting demo from 89 a different song?

  • @powerofktulu they are 2 different songs.

  • Comment removed

  • there best track ever...no doubt about it...

  • It's crazy that this song was a B-side! This band has to have had the best B-sides ever. I can't think of a band that compares with the quality of the songs that didn't even make it on a record. They were on such a roll!

  • This video shows how awesome this band are and were. A song this good was left as an afterthought to the album material. Most bands will never write a song this good in their career

  • I love this song i think is one of the best i love SP

  • Love it!

  • billy corgan had pretty hair. such a shame he lost it.. along with his musical talent.

  • SHAME is 10 times better than this.

  • they used to be a perfect band, seriously.

  • This is the lead singers best hair cut I think

  • One of the best pumpkins song ever!!

  • the pumpkins at their best...it just shows u how diverse they where...they where all over the place musically when they wanted to be and true fans get hidden gems like this...

  • It is on the original version of " Rotten Apples" but agreed.. Should've been an A side for sure

  • I LOVE it. I LOVE this music. I LOVE this Band. But i really LOVE this music.

  • i believe this was right after adore

  • @gauchebag Recorded in the adore session

  • Questa canzone è fantastica... una delle mie preferite.

  • i love electronic pumpkins stuff

  • This song is on Judas O; the B-Side collection that came with some versions of Rotten Apples (S.P. Greatest Hits)

  • cool song...defiantley sounds like it would of been on Adore

  • @f1uckingretard According to wikipedia (take it with a grain of salt), this is in fact an outtake from Adore.

  • Linda.

  • @Vetmaster indeed

  • This is very nice!!

  • anyone know when it was produced? yes, i'm too lazy to google

  • Sounds like a better version of "The Tale of Dusty and Pistol Pete"

  • @xlSQUIZZlx

pistol pete is a great song

  • I'd never heard this either and it's lovely. thanks for posting.

  • where was this shit hiding?! it's beautiful! :O

  • one of my favourite...

  • i miss the original formation, the good ol' pumpkins ):

  • No this is a horrible song...... LoL j/k (in case people dont know what sarcasim is)

I cant believe BILLY WROTE THIS....

  • This song is legendary.

  • the man has never made a bad album, cant even say that about trent, billy's awesome!

  • That's not true. Anyone remember a little album called Mary Star of the Sea?

  • yea that was great too=)desire was such a good song, awesome drums on that album as well...

  • @f1uckingretard , mary star of the sea ruled.its not billys fault if 3/4th of the world's population is in love with the jonas brother

  • @greenpumpkin96 Are you saying I love the Jonas Brothers? Or are you criticizing me because my love of the Pumpkins isn't utterly unconditional?

  • @f1uckingretard zwan ruled but compared to the pumpkins ,they sounded like shit.

    you are a true fan.

  • Hahah thank you, I still disagree though. But hey, that's what opinions are for.

  • @f1uckingretard both

  • trippy beat for a pumpkins song, i love it!

  • SP B-Sides outsine most of rock bands' albums, even the ones from the 90's......

  • Please drive slow, i´ve never been this way before...

    Beautiful song ^^

  • darcy looks hot

  • corgan has written as many good songs not an albums as he has on albums. this is definitly one of my favorites too.

  • very true. Set the ray to jerry is one of my favs

  • Yes! Set the Ray to Jerry is one of the best Pumpkins songs ever, in my opinion. Gotta wonder why it never made it to an album. Cherry is also quite good.

  • there is also an early song with the same title, they recorded at an acoustic session.

although billy say 'this is called "a trip out to bountyfoot"' or something at the beginning, the mp3 is clearly called 'Waiting'.

    Anyways,both songs are awesome :)

  • The early song you're talking about is called "Mother." At the beginning he introduces it as "A Trip Unto Bountiful."

It was about a decade before this and is not the same song.

  • @U2rock55 a trip onto bountiful

  • this is my favorite B-Side from Adore it has a relaxful gazing tone to it!

  • fantastic...

  • This is not from GISH!!

Its an adore demo that never made it to the album. BTW IS A GREAT SONG

  • Gish is beautiful

  • great song, the first time i heard it was on a cd that came with a music magazine like 8 years ago.

  • beautiful beautiful, in between here and there, like a gap in time and space slashed by indescribable yearning, missing something i had never met...so real... so unknown...so...

soulful! they've left timeless traces of light.

  • live version of this song is amazing (zeitgeist tour). just as well, studio version is layered beautifully. gives me a high every time.

  • the pumpkins have become a band that writes great soft songs...what happened to the i am ones and the siva, and zeroes? but this is a good song...wish they had good heavier stuff too

  • Buy Gish.

  • i remember that machina compilation that was a really long time but who cares this music is timeless

  • wonderful, I have no words :)

  • i have this on a promo machina album, and i love this song!

  • I had heard this song many times, and never really thought much of it. But, I heard it a few days ago and, ITS ALL I CAN THINK OF XD...GREAT SONG!

  • it was the whole band james darcy jimmy and billy is why the smashing pumpkins had such great music not just billy

  • Zeitgeist was bad. I hope Billy can write beautiful great music again someday soon.

  • exactly, I hope so too

  • I share your disappointment with Zeitgeist. However if you listen to the outtakes and bonus tracks and continuation ep(American Gothic) you will see that there are some amazing songs there.

  • Yeah! You are so right, Stellar and Ma Belle should have been on the original Zeitgeist!

  • What era did they write this song in do you know? I'd say around the adore days when they didn't have Jimmy but then again they have songs with electronic drums like this written when they had him so I don't know.

  • This was done during the Adore era because its on the Adore demo tapes..

  • Yeah it sounds like an adore song. I wasn't sure though. This song is so good.

  • @silverfuck77jpm Stellar is insanely good. Ma Belle is kinda hackish though.

  • I dont think zeotgiest was that bad but its a shame that stellar wasn't on the original cd i love the track U.s.a really trippy, but this song is fucking good!

  • I've never heard this song until today.

I knew it exsisted, but never gave it a listen. I feel deprived.

  • Grandiosa cancion, lastima que en su momento no se incluyo en el disco "Adore".

  • as a former huge smashing pumpkins FAN, gish, Siamese, mellon collie, pisces, aeroplane box set, and adore were all GREAT albums with great melodies. Machina kind of signaled the trend downward and zeitgeist, I honestly cannot say is even remotely a good album at all...although I thought the zwan album was ok...yeah i know people are going to bash me for this but hey it's just my honest opinion

  • I actually agree with you. I still listen to those albums regularly... yet I can't seem to listen to zeitgeist much if at all. not a bad album- just not the smashing pumpkins I fell in love with. I still support them full heartedly. I'll be a fan 'til the end. Billy is amazing. there are some songs on machina/machina ii that are good, but most the time I can't listen to the albums all the way through, have to skip a couple songs here and there :x

  • Yes, I just agree with you bot :)

  • @dalecampbl5 I loved Machina. The production is horse piss, but the songs are beautiful (wound, age of innosense, everlasting gaze, etc.). I became a fan during the Siamese Dream era, but truly fell in love with them after Machina (started buying all their previous albums after that one).

  • This is a good song. But Shame was great

  • people.. please understand.. smashing pumpkins, billy is an evolved person a million years beyond so many people spiritually and intellectually, it shows in his music... and shame and tear.. genius songs.. please understand, billys heart is just so advanced... a true remarkable memory and love of mine... miss you billy, no im not gay for you others... i just understand the feelings

  • Billys one of the green man who visit me in my sleep!

  • where does one get this song?

  • Off the double album greatest hits.

  • thanks

  • I can understand not liking the song Shame, but I don't get all the hate for it.

    Personally, I liked it.

And I like this one too.

  • ya shame was ok but regardless this song is awesome and I never get tired of it. I love the piano and for some reason it reminds or thinks it should be on machina

  • Thanks for putting this up!

    Great Pumpkin Song...

    e*

  • yes I´m waiting for someone too :)

  • hey, I thought Shame was fine. I know a lot of people disagree with me, but I think it's fine.

Blank Page, on the other hand, felt somewhat tedious, no? so yes, Waiting is an easy replacement to at least one song from Adore.

  • I gotta agree with Somarose, I really didn't like Shame very much at all and it was partly the reason I ignored the last few songs on the album at first. Doing away with Blank Page might've been a mistake because it's a great song to close out the whole CD. It's entirely possible that they wrote Waiting just after Adore, which would explain why the song never made it anywhere. But I'm not Pumpkins historian so I wouldn't know. If anyone out there has the answer I'm very interested.

  • It is an outtake from Adore. And shame rocks! Especially the rock am version, it's totally different. Big guitar parts and all.

In my opinion, and obviously Corgans too, Waiting doesnt fit with the rest of what Adore is, Moody and dark. Waiting is kind of bright sounding.

  • @f1uckingretard It's an Adore B-Side, so it could've appeared on the Adore album.

  • I know; see info.

  • @f1uckingretard The info says "Personally I think it would've fit nicely into Adore, but maybe it was after that era."

I'm stating as a fact that it was a B-Side from Adore. The info seemed a little uncertain, so I was confirming it.

  • Oooh gotcha.

  • great song that should've been on adore instead of shame, the worst song ever...

  • Shame was one of the best songs on the album. Especially when you think of what was going on when it was written.
