  • It's a shame they didn't delete the whole film. It was total shit. I asked for my money back.

  • @feindhortmit did u get it?

  • Fusack Fusack Fusack

    Dongvale Dongvale Dongvale

    Lervish Lervish Lervish

    Jikeslaw Jikeslaw Jikeslaw Jikeslaw

  • Hmmm....I´m not sure but I could swear that this scene has not been deleted in the german version of that movie.

  • Mel Gibson's character was partly based on Francis Marion, the Swamp Fox, who raped his female slaves and hunted native Americans for fun. But they left that out of the movie and turned the British into caricatures. Mel didn't direct it, but he did agree to star in it. Not surprising considering the rest of his track record in historical movies.

  • @squamish4244

and Tavington is based off Ban the Butcher. The man who squandered his families fortunes on whores and during the war burned villages and killed civilians. Also after the war he was elected to office where he adamantly supported the continuation of the slave trade of which his father had been in business doing. Lets agree that both these men are bad.

  • @jdhikerboy Having read Tarleton's biography on Wikipedia, his most notorious act, the Waxhaw Massacre, is a matter of dispute over exactly what happened and was used by the colonists for propaganda purposes to portray all the British that way. Yet it is also clear that the man was an asshole regardless. I don't care if people watch the film for entertainment, but if they want a more even-handed account of the War they should look elsewhere.

  • @squamish4244 Yes, Hollywood is not a reliable source for information. I'd say John Adams was an exception, though, considering that it was made by historians.

  • Mel is a midget, I fancy my chances, bell end.

  • I have no clue as to why Tarleton's reputation is even questioned...the fucker was a glory hound and a murderer (see Waxhaws)

He got on the wrong side of the Scotch Irish down south and rightfully had his ass kicked.

  • This is not a deleted scene it is part of the feature.

  • I like O' Hara's sarcasm.. Like a boss.

  • @SSUstufRudel O'Hara is Irish so what the heck is he doing fighting with the english and why does he has an english accent

  • @easynowww He isn't really per se Irish, he was born Portugal, went to Westminster school in Britain. His allegiance is to the British Empire.

  • @SSUstufRudel Probably forced to be allined with britain. As Irelad was part of the UK those days...Am Irish myself and I can never ever side with the english. All that murder, rape torture, burning Catholic Churches, taking away Irish land and farms, opressing the people etc I can never imagine a true native Celtic Irish Catholic support british/english let alone fight with them.. O'Hara MUST have been born/raised in england & had great gr eat grandparents from Ireland!

  • @easynowww He was born in Portugal like I said... Raised in England. Are you from Northern Ireland? Sounds like you are Catholic I think?

  • @easynowww "Murder, rape, torture" ... I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about the Catholic church.

  • @hschan4 Read up man. And see what protestants/british did. Now bye.

  • This aint a deleted scene you fucking bellend

  • It appears that Colonel Tavington prefers to follow his EEWWNN commands ._.

  • This is the movie where the usa gets disowned. Not freedom.

ROYAL families were almost like the beginning of a military "STRUCTURE". Hard to explain.

  • So glad Gibson's ex wife is taking him to the cleaners and taking half his fortune -my heart bleeds :)

  • he is obviously supposed to be tarleton known as the green dragoon,,,he was accused of murdering pow..left the colonies rather quickly probably a good move on his part..sadly most know very little about our history except for stuff like this..

  • Quite obvious why it was "deleted" as it did not go with Gibson's anti-British xenophobia

  • This film SUCKS. Typical Mel Gibson anti English trash

  • @TalonMercenary Pssst. America fought the British. Not England.

  • @TylerMaple3009 It's basically the same thing, and he's done it before in Braveheart

  • @TalonMercenary Britain Delenda Est.

  • @InfragilisTerminatio You and whose army?

  • @TalonMercenary

Gibson played the role of an actual revolutionary war American general (Morgan)

He had a grudge against Tarleton...and was sent south to destroy his loyalist legion.

    This much is true.

  • @TalonMercenary I know. This doesn't make me proud to be an American, among other, more current things.

  • @TalonMercenary Your a fag.

  • @sourcream3401 Yeah and so are you

  • @TalonMercenary haha. good one mate. unborn children can reply with that. awwwww

  • @sourcream3401 Errr ok? Troll.

  • @TalonMercenary

Hell you haven't seen Vercingeotirx. He says ROME is bad. Come on, GAULS? AS GOOD GUYS?

He's a complete and utter twat.

  • @TalonMercenary umadbro?? It was a great film, you just can't accept the fact we kicked your ass.

  • @TalonMercenary Oh shut up it was not bad at all.

  • @KyleDudeify You say a film that completely disregards historical realism and deliberately goes out of its way to make out that all Redcoats revelled in killing innocents "was not bad at all"???!?!?! Are you alright mate?

  • @TalonMercenary actually it showed most of the british soldiers regretting the civilian deaths, if u were payin attention to the movie

  • @TalonMercenary It is fairly shit

  • Great actor, Tom Wilkinson - playing Cornwallis here, he also played Ben Franklin in "John Adams" and Joe Kennedy in "The Kennedys". I can't tell if he's British or American.

  • @gyrofoam1 He's British -his first major part I suppose which caught American eyes was in the British movie comedy "The Full Monty" where he played one of a group of steel-workers who having been made redundant they become male strippers. If you haven't seen it you should get it on Dvd.

  • @Fartsurmonde Yes - I saw it ages ago, funny movie.

  • @gyrofoam1 Tom Wilkinson has been in that many American movies and tv movies playing an american I doubt if he now speaks English.... ;-)

  • @Fartsurmonde I disagree. It's the sign of a top actor to be versatile in accents. It puts them in a whole upper-league. There is a large number who are in many different parts with as many different accents. You see them all the time.

  • @gyrofoam1 - Sorry mate, you missed my tongue very much in my cheek, and misunderstood I was joking, Tom is a very versatile actor that is why he gets all the parts he does -but never mind, Merry Christmas!

  • As much as this is a shit, awful and completely pro American Anti Brit film, the music at the start of this scene is SO stirring! God save the King!

  • Another piece of Dogshit featuring the late Mal-Gibson (R.I.P.) Why didn't he stick with doing washing machine commercials?. Pseudo-history for the mini-brained.

  • 0:47 DAT STARE

  • pause at 0:44 lol

  • They should have left that in the original.

  • Hey! i thought the general never got those dogs cuz Mel gibson took em!!!

  • Not to sound stupid, but is Colonel Tavington based on Banastre Tarleton at all?

  • @daftpunkrulerfan1 He is indeed, it's all propaganda to be honest he was nothing like this in real life.

  • @daftpunkrulerfan1 yep Bloody Tarleton!!

  • @daftpunkrulerfan1 More or less. They didn't want to be bound to some historical figure where people would cavil and quibble over the historicity, so they invented a character whose name suggests Tarleton rather than just go with the genuine article himself.

  • 0:48 That's not just any old stare: that's Edward Woodward's son's stare.

  • 0:20

    LOL

    gay!!

    (look at background)

    and they say they strong!

  • Gentleman soldier = The ultimate march song..

  • I laughed so hard at the end when it says the british pushed back to the atlantic, and finaly the french arrive. WRONG! how do holywood get away with this shit. Great acting though.

  • @bicepius Yeah, that is right. Truth reveals this film as massive BS. In relation to O'Hara, his family descendants complained at this film portrayal of O'Hara, as he clearly has a stereotypical posho suber-upper class Englishman...he actually had an unusual Irish accent with hints of Maltese I think. Something like that, but genuinely Irish mainly. And why not...oh, yeah Hollywood BS again. The Britsh barely lost this war.

  • Why did they delete that scene. It perfectly describes that bum, lol

  • Now, this video has been up for 18 months and I'm really disappointed with the comments: They are just not up to the usually great YouTube standard.

    Where are the furious arguments?

The mutual denigration of crude national stereotypes?

And the half-truths, generalisations and straight factual innaccuracies in polemic?

Worst of all, there are no, repeat no, obscene personal insults!

I'm afraid this is just not good enough. So get to it, you fat stupid Yanks and you Limey faggots!!!

  • whata nonsensical shitty film, totally inaccurate

  • LOL at the O'Hara stare at 0:48

  • O'Hara looks so hilarious at 0:48

  • @habbostrand its called "British Grenadiers", but i couldnt find that version, only Barry Lyndon's

  • You can never be too eager for glory

  • Historically this movie is terrible, but the battle scenes are amazing.

  • I always notice that the most hard-working of men never get any appreciation. Yeah he was a villain and was harsh but he still made many sacrifices for his country!

  • @MrShenhai yeah...but he was the cause of the British in this movie for losing he pissed off so many people that they sided with the rebels and in the end battle they were doing fine (had won the battle) but then he decides to ride after them so he gets the glory and not the general which the general by this time is really annoyed with him so he sends a whole line over the hill that ends up getting cut down and then the british only have their reserves so they lose.

  • This isn't a deleted scene, not on my DVD anyway.

  • What is the name of the song?

    Great movie, by the way.

  • @habbostrand It's the grenadiers march, or march of the grenadiers... Something along those lines.

  • @JohnyMP5 Thank you very much.

  • I wish I could go back in time with a scoped 03' and a clear line of sight to that prick

  • @EmanGtown

    I have a better idea. A scoped 155mm

  • @EmanGtown There's actually no evidence he unlawfully killed anyone. And the British certainly never burnt a church full of children down...

But hey that's Hollywood for you. This anti-British piece of shit is a disgrace.

  • @MegaLolburger: I agree. Banastre Tarleton would have had his a** handed back to him by his superiors. I prefer to think of Tavington as a tool that his highers preferred to use when they wanted results and no dirt on their hands.

  • "We'll discuss it tomorrow" haha, something to look forward too

  • This scene was in the movie not deleted..

  • i love colonel tav!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I love the helmet... I don't know why... But the first time I watched this movie I never could pick up his name so I just ended up calling him 'The Fuzzy Hat Dude'. Don't laugh at me, because also the first time I watched it all I was thinking was, *The Fuzzy Hat Dude really just needs to die!!!!!* But the second time I watched it I learned Tavington's name and I cried when Benjamin stabbed him...

  • @TheArmyTrombone lol@fuzzy hat dude

  • 'The Butcher' was actually a nickname given to the real person (Banastre something) in a 1952 propaganda book. :P

  • @bjcsupertortoise Banastre Tarleton

  • @MotherGothelFan01 Yep that's it.

  • Poor Tavington. Always made fun of. Sometimes I just want to hug him.

  • what happened to tavingtons face? is it also in the movie?

  • @MrsCalaway Nothing happened to his face. Thats the blood from the American forces, not his own.

  • I like General O Hara's sarcasm at 0:42

  • pause at 0:48 . the longer you stare, the funnier it gets XD

  • @snuzzlescuf omg you're right!!!

  • @snuzzlescuf

what, cause of the way that O' Hara (Cornwallis's second) looks like his eyes are about to pop out? yeah thats kinda funny

  • Charles O'Hara was an underrated character in this movie. I thought he played his role to a T.

  • @lildwayne21 I agree, hes very good at being a suck up haha

  • @lildwayne21 aside from the fact the real o'hara, despite him being portugese, and having an english education.. really spoke with an irish accent

  • @lildwayne21: Always said to be a polite officer according to sources within the Continental Army :) Manners first

  • @lildwayne21 A lot of the acting in this film was very well done. I'd say the film as a whole was well-made minus some of the historical inaccuracies, of course. General O'Hara actually had a very thick Irish accent in real life!
