Well Sandra Herold showed she wasn't in hers and her friend had to pay for it);

The chimp belonged in the wild, im not on the chimps side but if Sandra Herold dumb ass never had the thing then her friend and the chimp would be A ok.The chimp be eating bananas and friend would not be disfigured.

What is disturbing isn't just that they eat children,it is the way they eat them.The survivors of these attacks have chewed up faces,missing limbs and missing noses.

They aren't physically designed to kill people.....cleanly but they will eat you alive bit by bit.

Chimpanzees are a breed of apes that hunt other apes in the jungle,for food, at least that is what one of their "subculture" does.

They will eat human children in times of starvation.You want to try making friends with something like that?

Don't paint all primates or even chimps with the same brush - Common Chimp societies are quite aggressive, but Bonobos are very peaceful (though sleeping with a male one would be even more 'inappropriate'...). The tragedy of this story is that an abused animal lost it's life & the poor friend has been forced into a place of unspeakable suffering all because of this irresponsible woman's obsession with 'owning' an animal that should never have been taken out of it's world & forced into ours.

Ive seen thousands pictures of white people murdered, raped and robbed by blacks---and believe it or not, more tragically disfigured than this woman attacked by the chimp. Don't believe me? What's unfathomable about this tragedy is what the owner said in a separate interview when asked, "With your friend in the hospital, fighting for her life, do you still think chimps should be pets?" and the owner said, "Would I have done it again? Yes." Ok, wow. Perhaps she'd feel differently if she's the one who had no face or hands now.

the police arrived after the woman was attacked, and when the chimp broke into their car and tried to attack them, they shot it. it was found dead in its house later . you're right, it deserved it

Lets make this very simple. Chimpanzees are not pets! Most species that have been domesticated for centuries aren't even safe! I've known people killed by dogs! There is no reason why someone should have a Chimp and its terrible that a friend should have to suffer for it rather than the owner. But thats how it always is.

From what little I saw in the previews while she was wearing the veil... why didn't the doctors just let her go... why try to save the life of someone who has no face left?

The doctors are like "oh it a miracle she survived..." You made her survive and left her with a face that looks like a giant roll of challah bread...

Did you re-read this comment at all and realize how horrible you sound? Allow someone to DIE because they have no face?? Granted her life is VERY hard now, but she's ALIVE! She had a daughter, and altho she is unable to see her, she is still able to feel the love from her daughter and return it. She will still be there for her daughters wedding...etc. Medicine is an amazing thing...and I won't be surprised if dr's are able to give her a new face.

Injuries like this need to be treated like a triage situation: someone like this would be given morphine and allowed to pass on; but instead I suspect some doctor want to build his career and fame on how he "rescued" charla.

But then I'm the kind of person who thinks I have the right to say when I can end my life, not the state or god..

I'm sure Chandra wants to end it all too, but she's sticking around for her family.

She has a daughter and brother who love her and don't want her to die. I honestly doubt that they will ever see her as a burden. At least they can still speak to her and tell her about their day. Even though she is an invalid and can't see, she's somewhat part of this world. Most people would kill for one last chance to talk to someone they love who has passed on. Her family was given that chance.
