  • Great lesson on the picking.... thanks! :)

  • thks

  • Your a very good teacher..thank you...

  • Ok i know this may sound stupid but when i try to play those cords like C and A like that my fingers are always blocking the other open strings and they get cut off do you have any advice for this i should i just try and stick with simpler stuff until i get better?

  • @BlehmBros it happens. i played like that for a while when i first started. just keep trying not to do it and it will go away. its just practice.

  • thank you,thank you,tank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Just great! Thank you!

  • I played one of his guitars at the 2011 NAMM show, it was awesome! you should check out Gelvin guitars if you get a chance. They put Les Pauls to shame.

  • grasias me ayudo muchisimo...

  • Very Helpful! but wher can i find the next phase? You know, the part that goes along with "I close my eyes only for a moment..."

  • @TheYTLiberator go to my video called FAQ..i think i put it in there near the end.

  • I've watched thousands of video lessons accross youtube. This was not so advance but theres something that makes it the best..nice job done man..

  • Wow i was looking on youtube for a good dust in the wind guide and this is the only useful one imo, TY!

  • Thank you! That really helped me a lot! I actually feel bad for learning this for free... Because I got so much in return!

Thank you! Keep up the good playing and teaching! :)

  • this helped me sooo much thank you! :D

  • i think i put effort into my practice time. i practice 4-5 times a week and 1-2 hours a day along with all the scales i've learned so far. it sometimes difficult to practice both in the same day even if i'm only doing one or 2 scales a day. how many days a week should doing just the fingerpicking for this song be practiced? and whatever amount that is ,how many weeks after that should i start to show progress in speed if i do this alone for 1/2 hour a day?

  • @dlucianoify well, each person has their own time scale, and i cant give you a specific time. i will say this, most of the things you practice will seem hard or weird at first, then one day BAM you just get it and it becomes second nature. practice controlled, but relaxed. be more focused on accuracy than speed right now. the speed will come automaticly. if you try to rush things before you are ready, you will develop sloppy habits.

  • my instructor challenged me to speed up my rhythm cause it hasn't changed for the 1st 3 weeks. he said i should play as quiet as i can. should i play quiet and slow?

  • is there gonna be a second part.. after intro..?

    good job

  • @BoJjaNnsrb

Once you´re done with this video... just google the chords and go for it! :)

    Btw: Thx Will.

  • my instructor is teaching me this song. The finger picking pattern i know but i can't

play at fast enough speed. How do you build up speed. very frustrating!!

  • @dlucianoify speed is built up by muscle memory. you get muscle memory by repetition. so practice slowly keep doing it until it becomes second nature. when this happens, you can go at any speed.

  • subscribed !

  • Could you please give me a hand? I got everything but the picking pattern. I can do it but when you start playing the sound the rhythm changes a bit and I can't get it... Could you please show just the picking with that rhythm slowly so I could see it better please?

  • @MaryEquiPatinagem sounds like a timing issue. the picking patten im doing is the same through out the video, just faster. get the picking pattern down trying to keep the length of all the notes the same but the first part of the picking pattern (first two notes picked together) have just a hair longer than the others. when you get comfortable with it, you can speed it up and it will all make sense.

  • gracias me sirvio de mucha ayuda

  • :D heklp alot thanks but can you make a part two please for the singing parts thats just the intro:D

  • thanks man, you really know what you're doing

  • awesome. thanks. easy song to pick up after your lesson.

  • great love it i learnt a lot thk u

  • I don't know if you simplified it on purpose but the real picking pattern would be , for the intro for example: 5th and 2nd strings, then 4, 3, 5, 2, 4, 3 (and that;s just for the first C chord). You then move to the Am chord and repeat the pattern, etc.. Just clarifying.

  • @free0fight check out my other video called FAQ part 2. i sneaked it in there.

  • @WillsEasyGuitar Im a busy college student,,,but when I have time I will check it out...thanks a lot man...keep up the good work!

  • Nice and pretty easy with a bit of practice

  • amazing, thank you soo much!!

  • thank you sir!

  • Will, that was great. I learned this song in 10 minutes. And for that you get another subscribe

  • dude uh in the c chord the one you telling a 5th string is the second string -_- the first string is the one with the highest pitch...

  • @josh4kicks if you listened, i said "from the top." not the second string. most beginners get confused with the first sting being the high E. they usually think it is the low E.

  • @WillsEasyGuitar if you read tabs you'll understand I'm right

    P.S. I'm not a beginner

  • @josh4kicks apparently you have a problem with both listening and reading comprehension. if you take 4th grade english again, you'll understand im right.

  • @WillsEasyGuitar .... I get it... it's for beginners... you're right, most people starting off will understand because they haven't comprehended the fact that the 6th string is the top and when you go up the neck, you're actually going down the neck... haha

Anyways, good job. I suggest if people want to criticize, let's see their vids first. :-) put something on the table.

  • @WillsEasyGuitar Its more like kindergarten and preschool that teach that sort of stuff :D LOL

  • @josh4kicks If you actually new how to play guitar you wouldn't need to read tabs. Tabs are for beginners dumb ass

  • @WillsEasyGuitar at 0:43 you said "A string which is the second". Josh4kicks is right.

  • @kekewonit you, just like Josh 4kicks are totally retarded. if you dont understand whats going on here, you should just walk face first into on coming traffic. If all you morons are such guitar experts, where are all of your lessons? why are you on my page watching my videos if you know so much? its because you dont know shit, and just have big mouths and insecurity issues.

quit wasting my time with your 2 cents which you should save to buy a new brain.

  • @WillsEasyGuitar Don't listen to the haters dude. They are all brain dead teenagers that play guitar hero and think that gives them the right to criticize. Fuck 'em.

  • oh gosh! that's really my dream to have that flair in playing this song on guitar with proper picking.Perhaps i was in my deep slumber when God showered this kind of talent. im so crazy about this song!

  • Thank you so much that helped a lot! and i dont even play the guitar.

    Good job! :)

  • you elaborate thats awesome meager props dude thanks the 17 % must be kids lol

  • you elaborate thats awesome meager props dude thanks

  • sounds out of tune or tuned down, but great lesson anyways :)

  • Diamond...... Never had lessons just picked up the guitar and started playin a couple of months ago and now i can play this song thnks to u :D Thanks alot

  • damn my fingers are so soft, this song hurts my fingers

  • nylon strings?

  • @fyflishfy47 yeah, its a classical guitar i was using.

  • does anyone know where i can find how to play the violin solo on violin of this song?

  • You are the best teacher :-D

  • on start i want sorry for my english . I want very very very thanks for tutorial i now know how to play it . Please can you do more tutorials =)

  • so cool, man!

  • Dude you kick ass. I was just thinking of learning this song, and this is a great simple way to do it.

  • the pinki parts are hard

  • I'm so glad there is a "beginner" version of Dust in the Wind!!! I've been trying very hard to learn the original picking method but this is so much easier! I'm going to stick with this until I get a little bit more experienced, Thanks alot!

  • standard tuning?

  • @jmeproductions0 should be. i dont remember if i tuned my guitar before i did this video. it may be 1/4 out or so.

  • Thank you so much for posting this!

I've been trying to learn guitar for the past couple years

but I always put it down, not wanting to learn by just going through all the chords

This is the perfect song for me to learn, its simple& a lovely sounding song I realized I LOVE picking strings rather than strumming them with a pick

Thank you for making this song easy to learn and not going too fast or too slow!

    You're a really great teacher!

    Thank you so much!

  • i rea;ly hate playing the d string, its so frikin hard to ply any chords with it, it always ends up buzzing and ruining my flow :( WHYY !! :'(

  • @XDXMIK maybe its not being pressed down hard enough or maybe the action is too low on the d string. is your guitar set up correctly? if in doubt, check out my videos on how to set up your guitar.

  • i think my fingers are to fat or something like when i press a string down it ends up making the string under it sound buzzy and i cant move my finger anymore to get it off -.-

  • @barneyownage mine did the same thing when i first started. i dont have thin fingers like alot of guitarists. it will go away with time and practice.

  • @WillsEasyGuitar oh ok thanks for the quick response btw, and this was a great lesson i saw other videos on how to do the picking pattern and i campared it to landing the lunar module, thanks :]

  • inreibly good...play guitar for 5 months and its perfect..the strumming is a bit cocky at the beginning but if you practice enaugh its ok...also a very very good finger exercice...after i play this five times my fingers are ready to go :D

    thanks dude :)

  • Thank u so much mate!!!

First video that explained like it should be, slowly and most important understandable.

I've learned this song after couple times of viewing ur video and practice.

U r the best, please upload more tutorials for beginners on Classic/Acoustic guitar.

    Greetings from Israel :)

  • thanks man this really helped me out a lot.

  • My father has tried to learn me this picking for a month or something and you use 40 seconds.

  • very good . like it . thank u so much .

  • thank you.

  • Man you are awesome!!!! Thank you a loooot! I am playing the guitar for 1 week or something like that and i just LOVE it as much as i love this song. You were a huge help and a great teacher! God bless you

  • Hello, Well I Have a little simplified version of your pikcing for beginers, Well my version is the following. First the Second string and Fifth string at the same time, then the Third string, then the Second and then the Third. In US tabs translate:

    2 = A, 3 = D, 5 = B.

Waiting for your reply (xblabla ¬¬)Benja. (xblabla ¬¬)

  • It's the best lesson for this song!!!You are a very good teacher and that the camera is so close to your finger is very helpful!!!Thank you very much!!!Can you also show the changes? How we get into the song?

  • Thanks a lot! This is the easiest lesson I could find for this song without a doubt. Really helps

  • You are awesome thats all I can say, I just started to pay guitar, and honestly I could able to pick yours easily. you make very clear, and simple thanks.

  • you are the best!!!

  • can u post the changes plz!!!

  • GREAT TUTORIAL! lol does anyone else have a guitar in their lap while watching this? haha

  • @ReBECCAaNNlOVESyOU lol i think most people do

  • @hockeylegend49 haha yeah im glad im not the only one LOL

  • im new at guitar, the only thing that is sort of difficult is the strumming pattern

  • @EatinTacos it will be for a while, then it will become second nature. the key to getting better is always do things that are a little beyond your skill level. if you only practice what you can do easily, you will never get better.

  • @EatinTacos i just started too ive been playing maybe a week and what ive done to help me learn the songs (so i can have a bit more fun while playing) is ill sit there and hear the song in my head and only use my left hand until i get the chords down and then i will only use my right hand to get the strum pattern down 2 or 3 mins on each and bam you have it down.. in a sense its kinda like doing push ups

  • I have been playing for about 2 months now and i love this!!! Where can i find the complete song so that i can play it all?

  • Thanks bro!! u save my ass :)!

  • some reason i found the pattern veryvery easy, almost natural

  • Very good!

  • i have been only playing the guitar for 8 months and this is extremely complicated!!

  • @crazypatty33 the more you do it, the easier it gets. just force yourself to learn it and you will be glad you did. this will make other things in the future go easier.

  • @crazypatty33 then your noob .. my lil brother who only played for a week already knew this song, and also always somewhere by scorpions ..

  • thank you, best tut.

  • dude, i am ur new favorite, you are awesome, ever since i moved away form my guitar teacher, nobody has been simple enough, to learn from, thank you, god bless :D

  • thank you man,,extraordinary ... this really made it less confusing for me,,, can you please teach us how to play `ten million slaves` which was on the the soundtrack for `public enemy` movie? that would be awesome

  • casi me la prendo ya mero! hahaha

  • nylon is awsome. I really like steel also. what would happen if you put steel on a nylon style guitar. hmmm well there both great guitars. tones and sounds that come outta both are incredible fun times

  • @fuzzmetalhead usually nylon guitars arent made to handle the extra tension of the brass strings. the body and neck may be able to handle it but the bridge and nut may get messed up. ive done it before and it worked out for me. the nut slots were not the right size but in a fix it worked. its o.k to experiment. just remember it can sometimes be an expensive experiment.

  • magic tab

  • thank u very much u r a very good teacher thank u and the good think is that u r doing it from step to step and slowly : D ty very much!

    Mike

  • Thank you so much you are really a great teacher. you put in my terms and made it really easy to understand thanks. Keep on teaching.

  • hello

Could you put the second part of the song where they are beginning to sing please?

    I hope you upload thanks

  • @jokersmurf10mil go to my videos and look up FAQ videos. i go over the basic chords for that.

  • asome vid

  • thanks man :)

  • I keep hitting other strings with my thumb :(

  • @CptRor his alittle bit of advice use ur index middle finger ring and pinky very few people use there thumb to play just becuz of the fact that its harder

  • you are awesome
