i just watched zeta, and it started off real slow. Then at the end it picked up, but the fighting was boring and repetitive. It toke forever to realize who was the better pilot. Could someone tell me why zeta was so good??

I love SEED and Destiny so I'm glad you got them in there. I know people rag on them a lot .. they were basically a re-imagining of Gundam 0079 and Zeta but they were still awesome!

Sunrise for some reason had issues getting the licensing to the song that's featured in the opening of Zeta in Japan so they just picked an instrumental instead. I like it much better than the Japanese opening simply because I feel it adds more drama.

@yahoo6692 at the time that I made this I hadn't seen Gundam 00 yet. If I were to add it, it would probably be around the 3-5 place range. Gundam 00 was good but the entire Innovator motif and the fact that there were 2 Lockons just kind of bugged me.
@i2acf2011 00 was alright. Not my favorite. Two Lockons didn't annoy me, since that was just a code name, what bugged me was that fact that they looked exactly the same. This is a pretty fair and informational list. Though i disagree about Gundam Seed, and Gundam Wing, my number 1 and 2.
@Chrispy0000 2 Lockons, lol, remind me of 2 Meer. The one thing that is probably the only issue with me for Gundam Seed and Destiny is Freaking PInk Smoke. The rest is awesome. 00 is alright but I really dig Gundam Unicorn. Its casual compare to something that is overdone and too much unnecessary fights and lack depth. Unicorn is very emotional and moment clincher. And Destroy mode was Beast.

In my opinion, I feel that Seed ( more so than Seed Destiny ) had the most character depth and development of all of them, it's really easy to get in the mindset of the characters, which really helps to make a good series. I've never seen Unicorn, but i've heard many good things about it.
@Chrispy0000 Seems obvious that people would find season 1 to be a better thing since almost all season 1 tends to create the first impression. You get that and the rest can be crappy all it wants but people would still watch it. Its the same with Code Geass, Godly season 1 and a tenacious season 2. That's actually a bad example because Code Geass broke the set in chain rules by making both season pretty AWESOME!! But you know what I mean.

Code Geass is probably the opposite, because that entire show is absolutely amazing, the entire series is Godly beyond belief. Code Geass was, hands down, my favorite series.

Most show tends to be like GUndam seed right and ends up with a half decent second season But oh no, Not Code Geass. They went and thrive in season 2. I'm dying for a success story like that again.
wow, im sorry, but of all the series i've seen so far, zeta was the absolute worst. even worse than destiny. the plot was so random, the titans and aeug'smotives made no sense, they decided to kill off every character in the 2nd last episode but none throughout the series, the cyber newtypes were annoying as hell. it started out good, i thought it was going to be good, but it just fizzled off. they should have focused more on sciroco, the restoration of zeon story, and given char a bigger role.

The original gundam was brilliant because apart from being the first real-robo it shows war as a clash of two opposing ideals instead of just good vs evil.
Zeta is a great sequel though some might dislike the fact that it copied the transformable mecha from its competitor 'macross'. It's a great sequel coz the men behind the screen didn't just go lazy and coppied everything that made the first gundam great. They came up with new ideas.

For those who say Seed or Destiny should be number 1 let me just say it's good because there the first series i have watched but No. It Can't go as number 1 for multiple reasons.
@destinygundam2600 no seed is the least animated. many frames are still shots with still backgrounds just being moved over each other with no animation. even with the old gundams while the color and quality werent good at least everything was moving. and the plot is the same in most gundam you twit. teenage kid caught up in a war meets others like him fights like minded enemy with decent motive...THATS EVERY GUNDAM. the problem here is that there animation team was cheap. read the reviews
Having just finished Zeta Gundam, I have to say I have a hard time seeing this placed at #1. Kamille is such an asshole, his actions and the first few episodes actually pushed me into thinking Jerid Messa as a respectable person more worthy of being the protagonist. The ending was unsatisfying (seriously, souls as powering-ups?) and an explaination was never given for Reccoa deserting.
On a personal note, the Zeta Gundam always reminded me of a Decepticon.
That the Titans keep employing the nerve gas strategy, even though it was the sole given cause of the formation of the AEUG, wasn't enough. The fact that the immense Titan military can't destroy two AEUG ships (Argama and Radish), who seem to have nothing better to do most of the series than just fly around space, puts a dent into the their credibility as an antagonist force. Finally, there were far, far too many custom suits without any visual depiction of technological advancement.
@IamMeHere2See I think that killing tens of millions of civilians was enough of a reason for the formation of AEUG. Hunting down the Argama and Radish is very hard in the vastness of space and the fact that Minovsky particles make long range battle impossible. I agree that there were too many custom suits but that was because of the Titans huge MS develpoment program.
Forgive me, I don't think my earlier comment very clear. Something important was probably cut when I tried to make it fit the length cap. I meant to say that the one gas attack which created the AEUG wasn't enough--the Titans somehow felt they had to do it several more times (i.e. a mistake never learned).
All in all, Zeta Gundam never had a great effect on me. In fact, several fights from Gundam ZZ were more impressive, such as when Puru first appeared, against Dreissen in Ep. 22, and many of the battles in Northern Africa. Ultimately my feelings on Zeta Gundam are mine, and I felt it never lived up to the themes the original series set.
NOOOOO WHY IS SEED NUMBER 3!?!?! The animation was awful for when it came out. Many scenes were still frames drug across screen with no animation for details. gunfights were screens of lasers on repeat while the gundam dodging was barely moving. This was a terribly cheap way to go with a gundam series. This would have been ok but I couldnt keep watching, the animation was so bad i couldnt even go through with the second disc. zeta was good i liked it. and i also suggest 08th ms team

Sorry but you're in no position to claim 00 is the best when you haven't even watched the other Gundams that came before it. If wasn't for the old Gundams, you wouldn't have your precious 00, which might I add, has characters and a story with the depth of a tea spoon.
In my opinion Turn a Gundam should be at number one. Zeta is just a bit over-rated for my liking. Sure it was good but I personally don't think it was the greatest series. It should be in 3rd. 0079 should be in 2nd. My opinion though.
I just got finished watching it about 3 weeks ago and really liked it. If I had to put it on this list I would put it at number 3. I know people won't agree with me, but it was great but not Zeta Gundam great.
ok so apparantly most people are sayin that gundam wing zero would win without any trouble and problem i do remind u that EVA unit 01 has the mobility of a highly fit human and is extremely agile and fast also BIG O has the chain catapaults that can pull wing zero down to the ground but it is slow but heailly armored oh yeah and EVA uNIT 01 has an armorment of assorted weapons ranging from a high caliber sniper rifle to a fully automatic rifle and close ranged weapons so now make ur decisions :)

Although he isn't a protagonist Gilbert Durandal in Gundam Seed Destiny is shown having an sexual relationship with Talia Gladys. It is implied that Athrun and Cagalli are also in a relationship like that because they appear to live together and he proposes to her. In some of the novelizations of the series it is shown like in the original MS Gundam Amuro and Sayla Mass are shown having an intimate relationship.

Code Geass is probably the opposite, because that entire show is absolutely amazing, the entire series is Godly beyond belief. Code Geass was, hands down, my favorite series.

wow, im sorry, but of all the series i've seen so far, zeta was the absolute worst. even worse than destiny. the plot was so random, the titans and aeug'smotives made no sense, they decided to kill off every character in the 2nd last episode but none throughout the series, the cyber newtypes were annoying as hell. it started out good, i thought it was going to be good, but it just fizzled off. they should have focused more on sciroco, the restoration of zeon story, and given char a bigger role.

The original gundam was brilliant because apart from being the first real-robo it shows war as a clash of two opposing ideals instead of just good vs evil.
Zeta is a great sequel though some might dislike the fact that it copied the transformable mecha from its competitor 'macross'. It's a great sequel coz the men behind the screen didn't just go lazy and coppied everything that made the first gundam great. They came up with new ideas.

@destinygundam2600 no seed is the least animated. many frames are still shots with still backgrounds just being moved over each other with no animation. even with the old gundams while the color and quality werent good at least everything was moving. and the plot is the same in most gundam you twit. teenage kid caught up in a war meets others like him fights like minded enemy with decent motive...THATS EVERY GUNDAM. the problem here is that there animation team was cheap. read the reviews

Having just finished Zeta Gundam, I have to say I have a hard time seeing this placed at #1. Kamille is such an asshole, his actions and the first few episodes actually pushed me into thinking Jerid Messa as a respectable person more worthy of being the protagonist. The ending was unsatisfying (seriously, souls as powering-ups?) and an explaination was never given for Reccoa deserting.
On a personal note, the Zeta Gundam always reminded me of a Decepticon.

That the Titans keep employing the nerve gas strategy, even though it was the sole given cause of the formation of the AEUG, wasn't enough. The fact that the immense Titan military can't destroy two AEUG ships (Argama and Radish), who seem to have nothing better to do most of the series than just fly around space, puts a dent into the their credibility as an antagonist force. Finally, there were far, far too many custom suits without any visual depiction of technological advancement.

@IamMeHere2See I think that killing tens of millions of civilians was enough of a reason for the formation of AEUG. Hunting down the Argama and Radish is very hard in the vastness of space and the fact that Minovsky particles make long range battle impossible. I agree that there were too many custom suits but that was because of the Titans huge MS develpoment program.

Forgive me, I don't think my earlier comment very clear. Something important was probably cut when I tried to make it fit the length cap. I meant to say that the one gas attack which created the AEUG wasn't enough--the Titans somehow felt they had to do it several more times (i.e. a mistake never learned).

All in all, Zeta Gundam never had a great effect on me. In fact, several fights from Gundam ZZ were more impressive, such as when Puru first appeared, against Dreissen in Ep. 22, and many of the battles in Northern Africa. Ultimately my feelings on Zeta Gundam are mine, and I felt it never lived up to the themes the original series set.

NOOOOO WHY IS SEED NUMBER 3!?!?! The animation was awful for when it came out. Many scenes were still frames drug across screen with no animation for details. gunfights were screens of lasers on repeat while the gundam dodging was barely moving. This was a terribly cheap way to go with a gundam series. This would have been ok but I couldnt keep watching, the animation was so bad i couldnt even go through with the second disc. zeta was good i liked it. and i also suggest 08th ms team

In my opinion Turn a Gundam should be at number one. Zeta is just a bit over-rated for my liking. Sure it was good but I personally don't think it was the greatest series. It should be in 3rd. 0079 should be in 2nd. My opinion though.

ok so apparantly most people are sayin that gundam wing zero would win without any trouble and problem i do remind u that EVA unit 01 has the mobility of a highly fit human and is extremely agile and fast also BIG O has the chain catapaults that can pull wing zero down to the ground but it is slow but heailly armored oh yeah and EVA uNIT 01 has an armorment of assorted weapons ranging from a high caliber sniper rifle to a fully automatic rifle and close ranged weapons so now make ur decisions :)

Although he isn't a protagonist Gilbert Durandal in Gundam Seed Destiny is shown having an sexual relationship with Talia Gladys. It is implied that Athrun and Cagalli are also in a relationship like that because they appear to live together and he proposes to her. In some of the novelizations of the series it is shown like in the original MS Gundam Amuro and Sayla Mass are shown having an intimate relationship.
