Why is everyone complaining that this is just for people who are to lazy to pick up the book? I read the graphic novel and THEN watched this, and personally, I prefer this. Not because I'm too lazy to read or anything, but this just totally brings the comic to life! The colors, the movements, the music, hell even the narrator's voice! It's all just mesmerizing to me! I think it's amazing and anyone who is a fan of Watchmen should really give it a try.

@jrad10x10 I'll take the graphic novel thanks, I tried this motion comic and just couldn't finish it because of the subpar narrator, plus them leaving out whole chunks of the graphic novel like 'A Man On Fifteen Dead Men's Chest' (which gives the whole back story of The 'Tales of The Black Freighter' comics) and 'Under The Hood'

The motion comic just really came up short for me. I had read DC has made Watchmen available for downloading on an E-Book Reader ?!?

No way is this better than the graphic novel. Alan and Dave crammed in a lot of techniques that could only be done in a comic and would simply  never survive the translation to any other medium, which resulted in both the film and the motion comic being no where near as deep.

I don't why is everybody complaining about the Motion Comic. It was great, you're right about the females voices, but besides that, it was awesome! The music fits perfectly and the narrator did a great job for male characters. I totally loved the Chapter IV, the voice he gives to Dr. Manhattan was terrific!

no matter what you do with it, how you remix it or move it, it is never gonna be better than the original comic book. Constant moving camera just makes it worse and voices in your head when you read it are so much better and quite more real than this clumzy voiceover... It is just another poor moneymaker from one licence of such a good novel.

For people who are too lazy to read. Dont pick this up if you havent read the comics first. When I read watchmen I was totally blown away. Theres just so much thats lost in a translation like this. Read watchmen then read it again to see all the things you missed the first time. Then go watch this. I hated the movie but most fans were split about it, so I wont say dont go see it. It had its moments but some of the music/casting choices were terrible and killed the overall mood of the story.

Using different actors would have put them in a position of comparisons being drawn between this and the movie actors. Plus, they didn't want to go the whole hog and release TWO fully-acted Watchmen movies... this really is just something extra (and a substantial extra, too) for fans of the comic.

the graphic novel is the best graphic novel ever, in my opinion, but the watchmen actual movie (not motion comic) is better than the graphic novel.

Novel= Awesome, movie= something you might want to watch before reading the novel to get a brief idea of what the novel is...

@H3nrix They're different media, follow different rules, it's not wise to make that kind of comparison, one should judge them sepparately. It;s a very common mistake, that we all seem to make now and then.

Both of them are graphic, one static and the other with motion and sound (quite a clichéd soundtrack, unfortunately). It is different when you "translate" words to video, but that's not the case here. In any case, I'm not complaining visually. Very well done, here. But as a story, nowhere near the original. Your approach is biased and a bit naive, but thanks still.

It is basically the graphic novel but in motion picture form. It is meant to be a page by page adaptation unlike the movie not to mention it has the art style. I still like the movie though.

It's like one of those recorded readings they do for books. The voices don't fit because it's one guy doing them all.

As for rorschach's voice, before the movie trailer, I had never imagined him of having a batman-esque voice, I always imagined him with a light New York accent and maybe a bit of scruffiness to it.

the black freighter is the story overall of rorschachs soul.....peep it,a man who goes on a voyage with honorable motives(becoming a super heroe) and in the mix of his noble crusade to protect the innocent he loses his purity and descends into madness and by the end of the story he becomes as violent and heartless as those he fights against.plus eating a rawshark (rorschach) brilliant!

I think it's more about ozymandis. Driven by good motives (avoiding nuclear war) he deems neccessary to act evil and sacrifice people, so at the end he's a heartless and a mad person. Of course as everything in watchmen this too, is slighly more complicated. But hey, that's what makes the comic so damn good :)
