  • The soloist's tone is just perfect for this song.

  • I've sang on stage in Orchestra Hall and Carnegie Hall, NYC and I prefer Orchestra Hall to tell you the truth.

  • First heard this in my choir class and now i am obsessed... literally! :)

  • Sang this song my freshman year of high school. still know every word. and it remains my favorite choir song of all time. this choir did a fantastic job. hands down the best one i've heard. Brings back some pretty great memories (: thank you for sharing :)

  • outstanding performance.

  • that was just beautiful

  • I can feel me Scottish bones stirrin' in me body. Rest assured, I am part Scottish.

  • <Convinced his choir teacher to let our men's choir do this with this video.

  • this gives me memories.....this was one of the best experiences ive had in choir

  • awsome song but the audience should stop with the coughing, it destroys the awsomeness of the song

  • This is by far the greatest version of this song I've ever heard. I can't believe these are high schoolers. I'm a senior in college and a sound this pure and this...excellent...is just rare. Minus the breath right in the middle of the word "waters" in the solo, this is a STELLAR recording!!!!

  • @ItsAFluteThing Hi Hannah.

  • This is unbelievable. I can't stop listening to this.

  • The part at 3:50 sends chills down my spine.

  • its more beautiful if you know the story behind it

  • @tonyliuplace2005 i know kinda sad though

  • nothing beats this group right here

  • So beautiful. Thank you for sharing this.

  • This is absolutely beautiful, so beautiful, that I had to respell beautiful like 5 times for getting distracted

  • Goosebumps from the solo. Awesome choir. Amazing performance =)

  • who sang the solo?

  • @boarder9309 Joseph Biggalo did the first solo, I don't remember the name of the lad who did the second.

  • absolutely exceptional

  • yehyeh

  • My favorite version of this song. I sang this a year ago at Ball State and it has been my favorite song we have sung to this day.

  • This is my favourite performance of Loch Lomond. I also love the Jonathan Quick arrangement performed by the Irish choir Pfizerpfonics on Youtube. Very fine Irish tenor soloists.

  • @1carrigdhoubh Scottish

  • @OldSlimey Pfizerpfonics is irish.

  • @kaiserbunny132 Ah. Excuse me, I thought he or she was referring to the song itself.

  • i can't stop listening to this. just inspiring.....

  • Oh man if only they were from Wisconsin. Then they would sound like angels. : P

  • wow pretty sure this is the only video i have seen with 0 dislikes

  • @24gdizzle i bet the one person who dislikes this vid saw this comment and disliked it to make u wrong lol

  • Are these high school kids? Sure doesn't sound like it...but all-state makes me think they are.

  • Wow. Brings me to tears almost!

  • As a side note, does anyone know the composer?

  • @Bravette2012 Traditional tune, arranged by Jonathan Quick

  • Oh. My. God. This is so amazing.

  • Do you know the name of the arrangement?

  • @joniniowa Loch Lomond--traditional, arr. by Jonathan Quick.

This is the TTBB arrangement. It's also available for SATB.

  • Kudos to the soloist! Great voice!!

  • Wow this is great! Me Scottish ancestors would be proud!

  • same place vocal essence did the whitacre concert, hence the falling cubes of doom

  • All State--which state?

Above, someone said, "Minnesota for the win!" Is it MN?

  • @loydsheryl correct this is the 2008-2009 men's all state choir from Minnesota, performing at Orchestra Hall.

  • Solo was perfect. Very nice.

I'll "tak" this to the bank

  • love this version :D

  • we're singing this for the TN All-State this year! 2011

  • Yeah those tenor 1's better work!

  • 3:41 ...cue drinking song

  • amazing!!! haha my brother was in this...and the lead singer is one of his best friends...that's funny haha! great job guys i will never stop loving this song!!!!

  • Beautifully done. Thanks you.

  • hey were doing this song for all-state this year!!! I can't wait!!!

  • I so wanna go there!!

  • were singin this song this year for Nebraska All-state. im obsessed with it

  • @TheWarhawk117 haha dude me too. if i don't make it imma kill myself.

  • Love it.

  • man the second soloist was a bit nasally. 2:18 almost made the singer in me cry, lol. Other than that, well done.

  • we did this song at GMEA allstate last year, i was a tenor 2. this version is definitely a lot faster than how we did it, and i dont really like this way. the singers were great but the song needs to be slower, especialy the "dai's" those were my favorite part of our concert, but here they just flew through them, i was disappointed

  • sehr schöner ausgeglichener Klang....

  • Wow. Beautiful accents. That makes the difference - this is better than Chanticleer's, in my modest opinion.

  • oo this is the jonathan quick version. i love this version. especially the moving eigth notes in the 2nd verse. its tenors in this version but when we do it with our choir its altos (altos ftw) my choir does this version all the time. they took the "dais" at the end a little fast. theyre pushing like 150. im pretty sure the tempo marking is just a hair faster than 120. still arguably the best version on youtube though.

  • yeah this one is the best one... better than most ...i think the others just had bad quality

  • tanhk you,greath voices

  • this is the best one i found! i like it alot!

  • It's great guys. I plan on using it to show my small group how to sing it correctly

  • I listen to this everyday because it is so amazing. :)

  • Minnesota for the win!
