  • This entire concert should be on dvd as a film much like "Welcome To My Nightmare". If only it could be a traditionaly animated movie that includes the songs and tells the story.

  • WOW wonderful always the LAMB does it for me, sends my vivid imagination into action every time this visual I feel !! ... EYE candy a precious Gem

  • I remember seeing them in 81 in richfield coliseum...they did the cage.. was killer!! and the medley off seconds out...

  • ya.. I do have a DVD made with scenes from this and other concerts...

  • 0:13 Poster child for a severe case of syphilis' campaign.

Jeez Rael, get Medicaid , for God's sake!

MY FAV ALBUM OF ALL TIME. Yes, I said it!!... It's about time I choose one!

  • I'm still holding on to the hope that footage will surface one day..someone HAS to have something, right? Right? :(

  • magog, ormai non posso più far finta di niente: TI AMO!!!!!

  • Honestly...I would give one of my balls (not that there's any use for it) if I had the chance to go back in time an witness this show.

  • @vivelavidarocka The Musical Box is touring a recreation of this show. Check it out. They do the best job of any of the "tribute" bands in recreating the original show.

  • That costume is so creapy. Its like a horror movie or something, just scares the crap out of me.

  • This footage was shot about 10 days before I saw them. I was dead center, front row, no obstructions as the the tube rolled out and the Slipperman crawled out. It was so amazing. I still have a sense memory of the dry ice making everything cold how black it was - and then the band appeared out of the ice as if on clouds of fog, Real in all the glory of what was going to unfold, the story flipping by on the video screens. All the while going by only to fade quickly into legend

  • That dude w/ all the cysts and warts should really get that one swollen red testical checked out ! I didnt realize they were so gay.

  • That dude w/ all the cysts and warts should really get that one swollen red testical checked out !

  • at 49 yrs old and i still dont know wtf is this album "realy"about Who is real anyhow?

  • where can i find that costume?

  • Did they have video cameras back in them days :)

It would be so easy nowadays mate, lets get a petition up and see if they'll reform and do it all again, for us old arse fans :)

    Brilliant footage btw

  • Wow!! freakin' awesome!! The best Slipperman footage ever.

  • Non c'è ancora una riproduzione ufficiale del Lamb tour vero?

  • Che peccato vedere i Genesis con Gabriel quasi sempre in filmati di qualità scadente.

  • Lama's? They look at you and spit right in to your face.

No thinking is ever taking into account...nor happening.

  • i love the costume in this era with Gabriel the Genesis genius!

  • For those of you who don't know the context this song is written, Rael (played by Peter Gabriel) stumbles upon the Colony of Slippermen, men who all encountered the Lamia, reducing them to putrid states of "slimy lumps". Rael's brother Jon became one of them, and the only cure is a visit to Doktor Dyper, and a painful procedure of castration (snipping of the balls), to obliterate the sense of obsessive love towards the Lamia. Truly a song of literate and theatrical importance.

  • @Thypaeon Thanks, my mom has this on wax, and ive been reading the inside for years, she tells me i gotta be on lsd to get it. She got the name Rael from this album, my middle name.

  • @onemarilynfan Sweet, my uncle got my cousins first name from this album, he is also a Rael haha

  • @musicman1783 yes, and I can't tell you how many times I've been asked where the name came from. I have to explain it all the time, then I have to explain the fact that Peter Gabriel was in Genesis, they are like " I didnt know he was in Genesis", damn ppl get on my nerves...

  • @onemarilynfan Hahaha, Rael is a cool name. I wonder if Peter made it up or something lol

  • @musicman1783 Actually, Peter uses the name as a tribute to Pete Townshend-- "Rael" is a mini-opera on "The Who Sell Out". Townshend had been working on a project called "Life House" and Rael was to be the main character in that.

  • @mchank ooh. haha i didnt know that.

  • What fucking idiot decided NOT to film the Lamb Tour?

  • @degree7 It amazes me because they have all these audio recordings of the entire tour, but there is not a single quality video from that entire tour!

  • @degree7 that would be me...the fucking idiot

  • @degree7 It was Peter. He said it in a recent Uncut magazine interview.

  • You must watch this! The best Genesis tribute i've ever heard! So amazing!

    watch?v=T4Z4GTNwbHY

    Or just search for "Guitman73"

  • It reminds me of "Planet Terror" and Quentin Tarantino's "rape" scene :)

  • "Slubberdegullions on slippery feet..."

  • squeaky feet..

  • The keyboard work in Slippermen is Banks at his best (playing wise).... Very inventive with lots of different stuff going on in both hands..

  • A great miss... There are no "official" video recordings of one of the best live acting ever made in contemporary music: "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway"...

  • I've seen hundreds of live performances of various types of music, and nothing compared to this tour by this group in that year. Nothing! Greetings from France. I saw them in Cleveland, Ohio. It was spooky and hard to swallow!

  • that's like the worst case of syphilis ever.

  • non ci sono parole per descrivere il genio di peter gabriel..non nascerà più nessuno come lui..

  • concordo!!!!!

  • Verissimo !

  • I TOTALLY AGREE, UTTERLY ! The whole thing changed when Steve left, I really try to make an effort, believe you me, trying to enjoy the post Hackett albums, but I can't, they are nice but I do feel that there's something missing, in their composition, the feeling, I don't know, but, maybe that's why I started buying the Hackett or the Gabriel solo albums instead of the Genesis trio pop albums, as far as I know millions of fans feel the way I do, with all due respect ...

  • WE LOVE GENESIS (1969-1974) GABRIEL's ERA

  • Prefer Hackett era! It wasn't until Hackett left that it went a little to pot, he was irreplacable, Collins wasn't that bad at singing gabriel,

  • @sluf6 then you should begin to add a trick of the tail + wind and wuthering to your era :-)))

  • @sluf6 IMHO, Genesis remained as a great band until 1977.

  • LOL seriously at times now whenever I think of peter gabriel when he was in Genesis I am going to think of this costume, and all the other times he painted his face to where I sometimes wonder if he really is from this planet or not.

  • Sooooooo, do you think he's compensating for something? Actually whether it's a balloon or a tube sock, this is always a hilarious shtick.

  • Of COURSE Gabriel was talented --- but why does everyone treat him like he's some kind of GOD?

  • Because he IS

  • Please, he's a douche.

  • whats your problem man this is art!

  • That Gabriel's outfit is so gross...

  • JackBlair - Most people who watch this video don't care what happened after Peter Gabriel left Genesis. Can you imagine the Rolling Stones without Mick Jagger or the Who without Roger Daltrey? Well we can't imagine Genesis without Peter Gabriel.

  • OF course Genesis got silly after Gabe left - a different kind of silly. But Genesis did some awesome work post-Gabe.

  • you suck... yes genesis did do good work post gabriel but gabriel is gabriel!

  • Jackblair - piss off. I missed this tour cause Hackett cut his hand and couldn't get tickets for the rescheduled gigs as it sold out much quicker than original show (why?) Classic album - you can play it to death and never get sick of it.

  • You call that silly, why? Theatrical comes to my mind instead. Which is not a reason to kick out the band (not that they did it)to the best performer/songwritter in rock history. And absolutely no, we all know by now they weren't better off with out him.

  • ...and do you think that the silly Phil Collin's songs were to match those from Peter Gabriel times ?? Why Hackett left ...also because the stupid turning point with teenagers ballads that Collins loved . Genesis wasn't that at their glory times !

  • Jack,Hackett probably wanted a solo career and indeed on the guitar world is well recognized. What I said is that the music Genesis did from the moment of Gabriel's departure it was the comercial stuff and he dislike this.He never liked to be in Trick of the tail,a nice song but uninteresting for musicians. In a way it was a starting point for solo careers for Anthony Phillips, Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett. Yes they made money but that was all and finally disbanded lacking of ideas

  • Well, there was talk of them doing a new Lamb tour, but Gabriel opted out because he's working on a new album (odd, he was able to find time to do a solo tour). That was a couple years ago, just before Collins, Banks and Rutherford did the reunion tour.

  • pete ,what a great presence on stage!!that was always one of your strongest points beside your unique voice of course. it is true that genesis lost you when you left, but you lost them also for sure.

Grazie Magog. Lino

  • incredibile..mi era sfuggito!! magog sei un grandissimo!! :)
