I saw Makana play Black Mountain Side at the Hard Rock Cafe in Honolulu about seven years ago.  He said playing that song was like roping cattle. Looks like he's still roping them cattle pretty well! He was awesome then, and he just keeps getting better. The dude can sing, too. Mahalo!

wow this is really phenomenal playing..he and vicki were definitely the best and acoustic guitar is not easy to play but i think vicki incorporated a lot more techniques than this guy

It's hard for me to believe this cat didn't take the top prize, as good as Vickie Genfan is I feel her performance suffered from some serious timing issues. This is stellar, reminds me of John Fahey at times, really my ideal of great solo acoustic.
