That doesnt mean hurt will be the outro for FLON on the album. He always plays bits of other songs at live shows. Every day I have the blues he played at the end of Bold as Love on the Where the light is concert. I actually hope it isnt the outro cause this is too good not to be its own songs whether he does it for this album or somewhere down the road, this song is awesome.

a point john himself has made about songs he writes is that they evolve over time . go back listen to room for squares listen to neon then listen to the version from where the light is theres a medium space between them btoh on here where john says he hasnt played in a while all three versions are different basically he now feels the song is ready to be put on an album and hes writing from a similar headspace
Personally I prefer the version he played on "where the light is," but the song was released in Room For Squares years before. The fact that he played it different on stage in 2007 doesn't change that fact.
well neon was really off of his very first release, inside wants out, back in 99. the way he plays it live in most instances is closest to that original version, but usually with an extended solo bit. its a much better song that way, if you ask me. i like the one of of where the light is much more than, say, any given thursday.

It's amaizing how talented he is. Do you know how many youngsters aspire to acheive acclaim by music and never really make it big? Just look at YT and how many musicians it has.
It means that in order for John to achieve such a level of exposure so early in his life(he was 22 when his first album came out) he needed to be really special.
People are idiots if they think JM didnt write the lyrics for evey song he sings. Some stuff on RFS was written by him and his old friend Clay Cook, but other than that they are all JMs lyrics. I have a video up about the recording process for the song In Repair, where you actually see him coming up with and writing lyrics. He did a comedy bit where he tried to get a few stupid girls to think that Richards Marks writes all of his songs, apparently it worked a little too well.

Sorry buddy but you're wrong on about all of that. actually all songs on Continuum were written by john mayer except for Bold as Love, and vultures and Gravity which he credited the entire John Mayer Trio for...which btw means he wrote them, he just threw on Pino and Steve's names because they helped him creatively.

i love john mayer to death, but some of the songs on his albums are concepts that are given to him after his record company buys them, i'm 99% certain. i'm still sure he writes a majority of his songs, but not all of them. he's still amazing either way, and i don't particularly care.

it's like this. person A writes a song, and a record company buys it and it's rights from person A for a large sum of money. said record company decides an artist that is signed to it's company to give the song or song concept to in order for it to be released. in selling the song and it's rights, person A gave up all their claims on the song, so on the record it can say "written by (insert performing artist here.)"
Do you own any John mayer cd's? or any cd's at all? Read the booklet, there should be some clarification there of who wrote the songs. Every song on his albums that's not a cover has been written by him, with the exception of a couple tracks (vutltures, akog) that where written by him and the trio..I think yours is a legitimate concern, but why would they bother hiding it? everybody knows most pop artists don't write their songs, but they still sell, sometimes even more than everyone esle.
how does he do it? how does he write these amazing lyrics that are just SO universal. many times i have listened to his songs and said to myslef "omg someone else feels that way too?" or "he explained the emotions so clearly and poetically". BOTTOMLINE: he is AMAZING!!! no doubt about it.

Sorry buddy but you're wrong on about all of that. actually all songs on Continuum were written by john mayer except for Bold as Love, and vultures and Gravity which he credited the entire John Mayer Trio for...which btw means he wrote them, he just threw on Pino and Steve's names because they helped him creatively.

bold as love is a JImi Hendrix song. he just covered it. and he wrote the lyrics to all the songs, the trio came up with the tunes.

i love john mayer to death, but some of the songs on his albums are concepts that are given to him after his record company buys them, i'm 99% certain. i'm still sure he writes a majority of his songs, but not all of them. he's still amazing either way, and i don't particularly care.

it's like this. person A writes a song, and a record company buys it and it's rights from person A for a large sum of money. said record company decides an artist that is signed to it's company to give the song or song concept to in order for it to be released. in selling the song and it's rights, person A gave up all their claims on the song, so on the record it can say "written by (insert performing artist here.)"

Do you own any John mayer cd's? or any cd's at all? Read the booklet, there should be some clarification there of who wrote the songs. Every song on his albums that's not a cover has been written by him, with the exception of a couple tracks (vutltures, akog) that where written by him and the trio..I think yours is a legitimate concern, but why would they bother hiding it? everybody knows most pop artists don't write their songs, but they still sell, sometimes even more than everyone esle.

how does he do it? how does he write these amazing lyrics that are just SO universal. many times i have listened to his songs and said to myslef "omg someone else feels that way too?" or "he explained the emotions so clearly and poetically". BOTTOMLINE: he is AMAZING!!! no doubt about it.
