The interpretation of Braid as a metaphor for the Manhattan Project is just one of its interpretations, though it does happen to be the most prevalent (probably) due to the secret alternate ending. The game is truly more layered than that even if gamers find that particular motif most striking.
I just picked this up for the PC, and I'm convinced that the part at 2:53 is fucking impossible. There is always a fucking enemy in the way. If I just run for it, I run into them and die. If I wait, the fire kills me. FUCK.

Now about the ending. I knew there was something up when the music was playing backwards. Random ripples of music gives distinctive comparison to forward music. But when I saw the ending myself, my mouth actually dropped and I got chills. I'm so glad I read all of the books in the game.

It was amusing but I have to agree that your comment holds merit. The story is vague to the point of being pointless. The levels though fun are annoying to get the pieces. The stars are a joke and the time runs are tests in patients. All and all not sure how it got such a high grade.

In the beginning, the knight is the bad guy and Tim is the hero, fire chases Tim and the princess, up to the point of Tim is lurking outside a bedroom window. Then, everything reverses; Tim is now the bad guy chasing her. She is now trying to block Tim. Instead of trying to escape the evil knight, she runs to the knight, because he is the good guy trying to save her from Tim. It's all about perspective/ Point of veiw. Tim thinks of himself as the good guy, when he is really the bad guy.

Prince of Persia (classic) for the platforming, Blinx, Prince of Persia Sands of Time among others for the time travel aspect. Braid just pieced it together. I also once played this Japanese game where you had to work together with your past self to complete a puzzle.

Once you obtain all 8 stars you are actually able to "save her" and when you do touch her, it makes a time paradox and a loud bomb noise.

but i passed portal a lot easier than i did with braid.
but maybe thats cause portal's concept was pretty straight-forward but their levels in the game made it shine and standout.
whereas braid the mechanics were a bit mysterious but once you got it it became easy as well.

People that are dissapointed are only dissapointed because this game doesn't end like anybody expects: saving the princess and living happly ever after.
So what happens when the good guys don't win? What happens when you realize that the good guys aren't even the good guys?
The game pokes fun at the idea of video games being a rat in a maze for the cheese (princess).
In the end, the princess is saved. Is that all that matters?

I think you have some serious problems that you should probably get checked out mate! I followed the argument and there is absolutely nothing wrong with Sonic's spelling, grammar etc. except for the occasional typo, however your phrasing is reminiscent of a 7 year old. Sonic's comments were reasonable, relevant and well justified when you needed to retort with comments about sex, gender and your own failing masculinity. Even an emo would feel sick looking at you in sex, even if you paid them! :)

Honestly, when people will pay 15 bucks for a lousy dinner, I find it galling to think that a brilliant game like Braid, with a dark, insightful, *thoughtful* storyline and ingenious gameplay isn't even worth that much.

you are all wrong. The princess is not a princess. She is that goal, that unatainable knowledge that was the atom bomb. When He says in one of the books " we are all sons of bitches" this is one of the mosut famous lines in our atomic bomb history. Also when your in the lobby, you notice how everything is on fire and how the last picture shows a burning city? Once you obtain all 8 stars you are actually able to "save her" and when you do touch her, it makes a time paradox and a loud bomb noise.
