I thought it was on. Take it easy Bip.If you get a change, look up Let's Go by Bethune Cookman. Better yet, Look up Say La La by FAMU. Their arrangement is so damn good it will bring tears to your eyes. NEVER thought I would see the day when FAMU would bite Hampton.

Actually Phone Phi is not alive and well. None of the players you hear in this were phone phi at the time, and the best player in the section who is the section leader still isn't. The section just had good leadership for the first time since I came in 2005.

hmmn...ok. I wonder if they use the redesigned yamaha mellophones. Yamaha redesigned the bell so that it will have a rounder, darker sound.

no, their mellophones, i dont think i've heard a marching french horn actually

some schools march with them. The marching French horn has a warm, dark sound and they retain their round tone qualities at higher dynamics than mellophones. Check out the Univ. of Texas band. They march with them and you'll hear the difference.

I actrually really love the sound of the marching french horn. They really do have a really nice warm spreading sound.

As a horn player, I prefer marching french horns over mellophones. Yes, they do have a rich, warm and round sound.
