I think a lot of people are making an unnecessary jump in logic when they see this. Lady Gaga made a cover of a legend. These people liked the original better. Both of those things are acceptable to me. It's that middle-ground, where everyone becomes upset with her for making the cover, that needs to stop. If you don't like it, buy something else.

Why would John Lennon be upset about this? And why is everyone else so upset about this? Whether or not you like Lady GaGa, you have to realize the real point here: to spread a message. I don't think Lennon would have written a song like this without the intention of it being passed down to newer generations. It's a timeless message that is now being presented to a younger generation by a new artist.

I think people are overeating a little about this she only changed about 4 lines and added an extra verse. Plus it was for LGBT community equal rights so it isn't like it was for no reason. Plus she performed the song great, she has talent. She didn't turn it into an auto-tuned mess.
