It is traveling . He catches the ball with a jumpstop, means he get's to choose his pivot foot. He lifts his right foot so thats his pivot. than he makes a open step without putting the ball on the floor before he lifts his left foot causing a travel

Rule 10 Sect XIV, F, there is NOTHING about the ball hitting the floor. It is about the ball being out of the hand.

Read the rule first before making shit up.
