@billdaddy26 Completely wrong. The fact is that he only had one hand, weak grip on the gun. When he fired, his off hand was hit by the recoil, and sent up towards his face. Not only would no one who has ever fired a .40 cal fire with a grip like that, the grip safety you mentioned should have prevented the gun from even being able to fire. Not to mention he shouted "I'm tasing him", and no one would stand right above the point of impact and fire straight down. Accident. 100% proven fact.
@ssn708 i love this word accident because in doesnt exist its a bullshit word meant to protect fools and cowards he killed the boy in cold blood accident or not he will be punished by god for it but shuld also be punished the same as if he shot him with a smile on his face that is the truth about murder
@JohnnyWhiteside1 No less than 8 other cops have intended to draw a taser and accidentally shot a suspect, just like Mehserle. Most of those suspects were Latino or White, and at least one of the cops was Black. No charges. He was only convicted because he was White and the victim Black. Latino cop shoots HANDCUFFED Latino suspect in the back of the police car, no charges. Black cop shoots White man hiding in tree, no charges. Your theory holds no water.
Much easier and better money to be a drug dealer these days. Would the community have reacted like this if the trigger was pulled by some crack dealer?
@alzator Obviously BART put the money up. You said you could buy your way out of prison, he is in prison. He was charged with murder, this was proven to be an accident. Proven by the facts, the evidence, and common sense. Money has nothing to do with his conviction on a lesser charge, the facts did not support murder, not in the least. They supported involuntary manslaughter, which this was. An accidental, criminally negligent homicide, not murder.
@aviomaster EVEN if he is sitting in jail? Um, he was remanded to custody after being convicted. He is in jail awaiting sentencing. And he faces 3-14, neither of us know what he will get.
@aviomaster You are a liar and either completely ignorant of the facts, or trying to inflame others with your lies. Grant was NOT handcuffed. Mehserle was not moved to another station. He was convicted and sits in jail awaiting sentencing.
@fmnma1 I am not the ignorant one, I can back up literally everything I have said. What is ignorant is calling this a murder when it very clearly was not. I'm a prima donna? Why, for speaking the truth? All of which can be verified?
@mmcclain88 Both the sig sauer and M26 taser have black rubberized handles. Mehserle panicked. He intended to draw the taser, he fucked up huge. There is no excuse for it. But that is what happens when one panics, they do not think rationally. We need to expect more of our officers than to panic and kill someone, but this was not an intentional shooting, it was a criminally negligent accident.
@SmokeyCough Most likely the city. It's their way of looking out for one of their own. If this murderer doesn't get life in prison, I will completely lose faith in the justice system. Mehserle played god and sent a young man to an early grave and denied his daughter the possibility of growing up without a father. He deserves to rot in prison!!
@IbeJaleel He can't possibly get life in prison. He faces a maximum of 3-14 years in prison, since it was proven that this was an accident and not murder. We do not imprison people for life for accidents.
There is racism in every culture in America. The only time it offects someone is if its PROVEN to be racism. In THIS CASE, this is not racism, this is MURDER. Racism comes into play when the trial is moved to LA and heard by a complete WHITE Jury. Now THATS racism. Why wasnt african americans, hispanics, asians, & whites selected as jurors? Because the system has failed. The importance of it all, MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHO YOU VOTE INTO OFFICE, THATS WHERE FAILURE LIES, STOP THROWING STONES PPL!!
@lavthierry1 You are wrong about most of what you said. Moving the trial is not racism, it is what happens in every high profile trial where there has been extensive news coverage. It is to ensure the jury pool is not prejudiced by the news coverage. As far as the "All White jury" excluding Asians and Hispanics, there were Asian and Hispanic jurors. The prosecutor had every opportunity to challenge the racial makeup of the jury. He counted on "White guilt" to convict Mehselre.
what if it had been a black cop? would the niggers still be throwing as big of a shit fit? "look at dat pig dat shot dat po po black man! his skin be white an sheeit. RACISS RACISS!!" fuck off niggers
@1488RebelDerekisBack What if it had been a white boy who was restrained and murdered? Would you still be using logic errors and the vocabulary of a 3rd grader?
@MindfulFuture If it were a white boy who was restrained and "murdered" (this was an accident, not murder) you simply never would have heard about it. At all. Ever. Don't believe me? The majority of the 6 other suspects who have been accidentally shot by officers who intended to pull their tasers were, in fact, white.
@ssn708 Maybe where you live that's the case, but it doesn't make the action 'right', there was no reason for the officer to even pull a taser, his negligence led to the death. Plain and simple. I don't care about the surrounding 'ethi]nic' divisions and biases , I do but it's a separate issue. This one is about equal treatment under the law for officers.
@MindfulFuture Yes, where I live, America, that is right. Mehserle indeed had every reason to pull a taser. Grant assaulted officers. Grant refused to give up his hands and comply with arrest. Others in the crowd began assaulting officers, and they had no more time to waste in restraining Grant. His friends complied and they were cuffed n about 5 seconds. They wrestled with Grant for 30 seconds while fellow officers were under attack.
@MindfulFuture I have repeatedly said Grant did not deserve to die and that Mehserle deserves time in prison. I hold to both of those statements 100%. This was not a racial execution, this was not murder. This was a dumbass cop making a dumbass mistake, and it cost a human life. The tragedy is beyond measure. But Grant was not innocent. Grant was no "peacemaker". Grant is no martyr upon which to riot and risk further death and destruction.
@ssn708 Watch the entire video, Grant's hands were up and he was pull forward by the cops with his hands still up and was lying face down when he was shot. Whether the cop was going for the taser or not is besides the point. Officers need to stop using that device as a crutch especially when someone is face down with three officers physically restraining him and others around them to police the crowd. It was a controlled situation, why even pull the taser? There has to be accountability here.
@raventakayama I've watched every video. Grants hands were up, as he was STANDING UP after repeatedly being told to remain seated, after he assulted two officers. Whether he was going for a taser is beside the point? Hardly, it is the entire point. Only 2 officers were on Grant, the third was on his friend to Grants left. Controlled? With 2 unrestrained suspects, one resisting arrest (Grant), 6-7 encroaching on and assaulting officers, and a train full of drunk hostile people? Define controlled!
@ssn708 Hold on so you know he was repeatedly told to remain seated? Where are you getting that info? Check the video from the train again. He was grabbed by his right hand, which was pulled behind his back. I've seen kids put up more of a struggle with their parents than this guy with the cops. And if you check the girl's video the cops around Grant weren't being touched by onlookers. The cops surrounding them were keeping people back. The offending officer's nerves must have been really bad.
@raventakayama As far as knowing he was repeatedly told to be seated, eyewitness testimony, the fact that Pirone forcefully put him on the ground, the fact that Pirone kept motioning for him to remain seated, the fact that everyone else did remain seated. And yes, people on the platform DID attack officers, as per eyewitness testimony as well as fully evident in the Karina Vargas video as well as one other video. Absolutely, officers were under assault by others on the platform.
@ssn708 Yes I know people on the platform attacked...well I take that back, they threatened officers by walking to close. Scary, I know. However, I've witnessed a lone officer force a guy to the ground and cuff him without tasering. It's possible. If you're hung up on the justified thing, well like I said before was it necessary? The guy was possibly drunk, and there's better ways to handle this situation. Because an officer failed at his job this guy died. And what about the gun's safety?
@raventakayama No, they attacked. Physically attacked officers. The Karina Vargas video shows this. 2 people (other than Grant) attacked officers. If it was just Grant, justified but not necessary. With 2 unrestrained suspects, those encroaching on and attacking officers, and a train full of hostile drunks, justified and necessary. Some officers do not engage their safety. Yes, Mehserle failed, but so did Grant. Both could have avoided this.
@ssn708 I'm sorry, but if you add things up... supposedly officers grabbed the wrong group of guys in the 1st place. Meaning the officers weren't listening to anyone. Next the guys were possibly intoxicated, which was stated by witnesses... Now the bart officer was on the force for 2 years and couldn't tell the difference between a taser and a gun... I'd say Grant takes 15% of the blame. Fact is tasing Grant wouldn't have eased the situation any faster. It was retaliatory at best.
@raventakayama No, they did not grab the wrong guys. Not only the driver but several witnesses pointed Grant and his friends out. They were fighting with "Diesel" who Grant had an extensive history with. Yes, tasing Grant would have brought an end to fighting with him, which they did for 30 seconds, which when detaining a suspect is a lifetime. I think we have to agree to disagree, glad we are remaining civil though. Most here do not. I really find it refreshing.
@ssn708 I'll agree that you're wrong and I'm right LMAO I'm playing again. I'm really a nice guy once you get to know me. But you're right, I'm actually trying to see it from your point of view but I'm finding it quite difficult. It just seems like tasing would have been unnecessary within itself. But we can agree on one thing. I believe the shooting was an accident and not some plot by white cops to kill black males. But yeah... Positive Education Always Corrects Errors (PEACE)
@raventakayama Well, I can agree to disagree. But as far as tasing him, they already wrestled with him much longer than they should have had to (30 seconds vs 5 seconds for his 2 friends). If it was just Grant in some alley with a couple of cops, sure, justification but no necessity to tase. But with the situation deteriorating, they had to get him under control. Fast. They simply had to, their lives were in danger.
@ssn708 O_O LONGER THAN THEY SHOULD!!!!!!!!! LOL So its tase first... wrestle if the taser misses, then shoot em... I'm playing around, but while what you're saying is justified, its pretty piss poor to rely so heavily on a taser...but yeah Its a dirty job and I'm not doing it for a reason...Because mine pays more lol Ok I'mma stop messing around. Its been cool man.
@raventakayama (continued from previous) It was wrestle first, which they did for 30 seconds, THEN tase. Learn how to look and count, would ya? ;-) Kidding.
@raventakayama The taser is not a "crutch". They managed to cuff Grants 2 friends in about 4 seconds each. They wrestled with Grant for 30 seconds. Did they do this for fun? No, they did it because he was resisting. He put his hand underneath him, and since they had not searched him yet, they had no idea if he was going for a gun. Use of a taser in that situation is 100% appropriate, especially since the situation was absolutely NOT under control, not by a long shot. (Continued Below).
when i see that faag cop i just want to deck him in his nose his big honker. just looking at him brings the animal out in me. if he don't do time now he will do it in hell for eternity. what a fcuking faaggot cop that fool was, if i was him out on bail i would go and plant my seeds while i can before i get lock up for life. who knows, ironically he's kid in the future might meet the same fate was dealt with Mr. Grant R.I.P
First it was this...I am so ashamed of myself for not acting on this alone...but theres a new video out there of psycho cops who storm a mans house and destroy his pets....one of them in a cage...I'm so ashamed of myself for not getting active sooner. I'm so sorry for the family of this man that i didn't act then....My heart is SO broken over these psychotic cops thugs destroying this country. WE MUST TAKE IT BACK NOW!!!!!!!
You only get it back if you post the full bail after the courtcase is over, which is called a cash bond, if you do a surety bond, you pay 10% of the bail but never get that money back.
yep watch the video he does chamber a round sad to say i almost fell for the taser thing till i watched ALL the videos on the net tisk tisk man guess he still might get to me his maker )o and yeah how does a cop post bail for a 3 mill bond hmmm just another cartel if ya ask me and where are all the black cops in Cali )o
As someone who deals with guns frequently I don't know if that would totally dismiss it. I'm not excusing what the officer did, as it looks intentional but in the possible alternate scenario that his lawyer was proposing if I found a gun in my hand in a high stress situation I'm thinking that cambering a round would be instinct.
This cop is lucky he didnt fuck with my family because he would be wanting to go to prison instead of what i would have waiting for him. And to imagine the naughty things I would do to his family and wife for the payback.
wow., someone who sees it my way atlast! my sister was raped last year and the guy was put in prison., I racked up a pile of charges in the district and they were all scooped together in one hearing and dropped., I even beat a cop pretty bad for suggesting my sister deserved it and I cant get into jail ffs.., best I got was 24 stay in psyche observation!! If that was my son I would be glad that cop was free., I would deprive him of all he loved first and tear his soul before I executed him!!
He will walk free because of the "murder" charge filed. He should of had a manslaughter charge filed. He will claim as the video describes that he reached for his stun gun but grabbed his pistol instead. The jury will not convict him of murder based on an accidental shooting. he walks the end
where does a cop get 3 million? i guess pigs take care of there own..have no mistake they will shoot you weather your black, white, yellow, red.. we all have to live in fear its the levarage they will always have on most people..make no mistakke there will be others..
if you watch the video u can see he cop clearly chambers a round fast ,now the trolls will say the cops have one in the chamber already to get u to not investigate this ,but go through the motions of the cop pulling a gun and chambering a round and your left arm will do a arc ,just like the killer cop in the video,it was cold bloodied murder
Mehserle was freed on $3M bail? Really? Is that the whole story? Come on. Who posted the bail? How the heck could a transit officer post $3M bail? Did the city post the bail? The same city who employs the judge who set the bail? Who? Am I missing something here?

How the fuck does a transit cop pose $3 million dollars of bail?
AndrewCJackson 2 years ago 3
I wonder where he got the three hundred thousand from also
bio1guyver1 2 years ago
Because when you post surety bond, you pay 10% of the bail, so he payed 300,000 to get out.
or got a bails bondsman to do a weekly or monthly payment plan, thats how.
i been to jail many times.. i know this.
qenocide 1 year ago
In the us, when you bail to get out of jail, do you get your money back after ?
cartonhead 2 years ago
Only when you pay the full bail and not make a partial payment to a bails bondsman.
AndrewCJackson 2 years ago
You only get it back if you post the full bail after the courtcase is over, which is called a cash bond, if you do a surety bond, you pay 10% of the bail but never get that money back.

A cop that posts 3 million. Not that's proof of corruption. I bet the taxpayers posted via the DA
trimmer7177 2 years ago
This cop is lucky he didnt fuck with my family because he would be wanting to go to prison instead of what i would have waiting for him. And to imagine the naughty things I would do to his family and wife for the payback.
SirMicDre 2 years ago 3
wow., someone who sees it my way atlast! my sister was raped last year and the guy was put in prison., I racked up a pile of charges in the district and they were all scooped together in one hearing and dropped., I even beat a cop pretty bad for suggesting my sister deserved it and I cant get into jail ffs.., best I got was 24 stay in psyche observation!! If that was my son I would be glad that cop was free., I would deprive him of all he loved first and tear his soul before I executed him!!
mysty0 2 years ago 3
He will walk free because of the "murder" charge filed. He should of had a manslaughter charge filed. He will claim as the video describes that he reached for his stun gun but grabbed his pistol instead. The jury will not convict him of murder based on an accidental shooting. he walks the end
dedes016 2 years ago
1) They can always find him guilty of manslaughter.
2) Secondly, He reached for a weapon to use against a unarmed, RESTRAINED, civilian.
He needs to swing for what he did. Make him swing and put his carcass on display.

goldeneaglewarrior 2 years ago
if you watch the video u can see he cop clearly chambers a round fast ,now the trolls will say the cops have one in the chamber already to get u to not investigate this ,but go through the motions of the cop pulling a gun and chambering a round and your left arm will do a arc ,just like the killer cop in the video,it was cold bloodied murder

Mehserle was freed on $3M bail? Really? Is that the whole story? Come on. Who posted the bail? How the heck could a transit officer post $3M bail? Did the city post the bail? The same city who employs the judge who set the bail? Who? Am I missing something here?
