Not only would no one who has ever fired a .40 cal fire with a grip like that, the grip safety you mentioned should have prevented the gun from even being able to fire. Absolutely, officers were under assault by others on the platform.

Yes, Mehserle failed, but so did Grant. Both could have avoided this.
