I met the man a few times while spinning at The Endup. Such a sweetheart. And very shy. Such a loss for all of us. Super person, and a once-in-a-lifetime voice.
I still remember the mayham and fun on the dance floor when this song was playing in the clubs. People clowned and dance with smiles on their faces and everyone's dance was appreciated as long as you brought the energy! Fun times and a great track by the wonderful Sylvester!
This is different....Have never heard a different version than the one we all know.I think I kinda like it......In any event, I always love Sylvester's voice.
OH MY GOD...I LOVE THIS SONG! They'll NEVER be another Freda Payne, nor will there be another Sylvester. Thank God for Sylvester for his version of this classic song of the 70's. I don't think anyone could have EVER done it justice like Sylvester! Wouldn't it be a HOOT if Beyonce or Lady Gaga redid it??? This song should keep going strong! What's YOUR take??? Let me know.
Thank you for posting this, I have been looking for this song for a long, long time. Sylvester was an incredible artist and this is my favorite of all of his hits!!!!! Disco Rocks! It always has and surprisingly he came out with this song on the tail end of the Disco era.
THE most wonderful times of my life... coming out in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale at THE COPA. I had this vinyl and plyed it until it sounded like bacon in the frying pan.
Great track and vocals. Even better than the original to me. If you like a rockier version, check Bonnie Tyler's live version from 1986 on YouTube as well. Thanks for posting this classic track!
They said in thier letter that many fans of Sylvestor have expressed an interest in a documentary, but right now the program's interest's is not to focus on a segment featuring Sylvestor.
This man's story must some day be told on film. Come on Hollywood! The time has come again for you to be brave and step up and let this story unfold in film history!

Hi Thunder.
I wrote the tv show, "E:True Hollywood Story" asking if they would do a documentary on Sylvestor.
I hope to hear back from them.
