Considering it was up for sale for 1 Mark in 97 , congratulations must be given to those who fought to preserve it for ll to see today , long may it prosper' a visit is highly recommended,

I have visited colditz 3 times , and every time it sends a shiver down my spine,
The first time it was in 1997 and then it was grey and desolate, and we had teh run of the castle , including the delicing room , solitary confinement cells and so on , the museum as it is today was non existent
On my folling 2 visits i was shocked at the transformation, at first , i thought they had spoilt the atmosphere by painting it cream, its not as foreboding ,
The "Prisoner of war" game brought me here =)
