its ashame i won't get to see her runing in person..when i was a little kid my dad got me the pentrex tape called Best of 1990 thts when i first saw the 1522... great engine just amazing!!
For example purposes, Locomotive designations such as 4-8-2, refers to the number of wheels and wheel configuration. Following info is excerpt from wikipedia: 4-6-2, in the Whyte notation for the classification of steam locomotives, represents the wheel arrangement of four leading wheels on two axles (usually in a leading truck), six powered and coupled driving wheels on three axles, and two trailing wheels on one axle (usually in a trailing truck). Loved video. Peace & Love
@67mustangreg I find it very interesting too....you should go to Jay Leno's Garage and check out his steam cars, if you haven't already. He has a steam powered tractor and a couple other engines as well.
@GeneralGHustler I think that engine would be a little hard to stuff under the hood of my truck though...lol The way things are going, we'll probably see a 3600 HP street car at some point.
very cool! Never seen old trains up close like this. We have a train car in Terrell, Texas that use to be a Bordello in the 1800s it was later learned after the city bought it. Mabye I should tour it too :)
Jeff, I have some video of 1522 in action on it's run to Hannibal a few years ago. I was driving 50 MPH and could hardly keep up. That thing can really fly. You're welcome to it. It'll take some editing but you could post it here on your channel.
@rap4trains That sounds pretty cool, I appreciate that. Not sure how you'd get the footage to me. You could upload it to your channel privately, then give me the link and I could copy it.
@Bevoin1970 I'm glad there are places like this, that are preserving history for future generations. Thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it!

I've been researching steam power and am amazed by the simplicity of their pistons. kinda like a 2 stroke.

Always great to see old iron with charisma being kept alive for future young eyes to gaze over.
It always makes me say "Wow" when your actually stood next to these massive machines, makes you realise just how big and heavy looking they are.
Thanks for showing us around. :-)
