The deteriorated tape makes this 100 times cooler, as it was already awesome to begin with. Too bad this song wasn't on speak n spell, it should have been.
Liverpool ’81...if you search for Photographic, you’ll see a an almost perfect video quality. There used to be a great quality one for Tora Tora Tora, but I cannot find it anymore. Can anyone pls upload the whole best quality vid for this concert. Thank-you. I’m only interested in quality video, not solely audio as I already have this on bootleg. oops.
would love to have seen them live with vince clarke still in their line up. maybe in the future they could do their original songs using the old analog kit, along with vince clark at the helm. now that i would not miss!
With the 2006 remaster of Speak & Spell, surely there was a half-decent master tape of this somewhere, to stick on as bonus material? This track is too good to remain absent from the DM back catalogue.
I actually think the deteriation of the video suits the song adding to it's charm and also it's appeal. You would think it was deleberate, what does everyone else think?
The song was written by some friends of one of DM members and they never actually got the whole copyright thing settled. They stopped playing the song live and never recorded it.
this is from the same tv performance as the other "photographic" video, but i cant seem to find the video of "tora tora tora" from this performance. anyone know where it is?
Actually "The Price of Love" is awesome..in my opinion, sounds good to the ear and it's very catchy..but somehow I still don't know why they didn't add it to Speak & Spell? I would have sound awesome in that LP.
--I love this song. This is the first and only video I have seen of this song. Did this ever show up as a single, or what? Hearing this song, I wish they had added "Television Set" to the "Speak and Spell" album, and taken off "What's Your Name". Damaged video or not, this is awesome. Thanks for adding it.
I much prefer "What's Your Name?", actually. I know the band does not like it. However, I find "No Disco" to be the dreadful tune: "Move me disco...baby don't you let go. This is no disco..." Yuk!
I'm so glad that people have put these old bootlegs up on YouTube! (you've answered my prayers!)

A real shame this was never released. Is there a studio version lying around? Surely Vince must have recorded one!

It's a Vince Clarke's friend's creation I think. That's probably why it's not on the album.

The old French Connection and Composition of Sound tracks also.

Will someone please tell me, WHY THE HELL WAS THIS SONG NOT RELEASED EITHER AS A SINGLE OR ON AN ALBUM? classic early DM.

Wow, this is what i call rare footage, and DM performs great as usual, it doesn't matter that with the Clarke style
joseph1985 3 years ago 3
DM should release all their "Composition of Sound" tracks. :)
