Melanie, I am sorry this happen to you I left youtube for this very reason and that people don't support people like they should on here. I feel that is not going to help me in my lapband journey i still struggle everyday ! I feel i am all alone in my journey and drowning but i can't put that on here in fear of being looked down on because i am not at my goal! Or the thing going on in my life so i left youtube! I want to put in my 2 cents into this, and I'm sorry for being blunt. But when you and your weight loss friends show up at a conference that consists of (some) people with low self esteem and people that have or are still having major issues with their weight, and wear these bright tight labeled color tank tops.....you are asking for attention and placing a spot light on yourselves.
@NurseRN1975 I couldn't disagree more. So your saying just because we wear bright color shirts, we want attention?? Please!!! We have been wearing those shirts since the 1st Meet & Greet. Nothing changed but people putting their senses in and talking shit. We are just like everybody else there.. WE ARE ALL THE SAME!!! No one should be talking about anybody or putting labels just because they have low self esteem or too opinionated.

@NurseRN1975 Hmm. Your 2 cents are worthless to me. Are you a WLS patient? I checked out your channel and I see nothing about you. Did you attend the 1st M&G Feb 2010 or the 2nd May 2011? If you did or have watched all of the videos on this channel you would then understand the meaning behind the shirts. Every person at the M&G is the same. We all struggle with obesity. Most if not all have had WLS. It is an event that ALLOWS us to celebrate our hardwork and dedication.
@NurseRN1975 it is not possible for every attendee to be at the same stage of the journey. however, it is possible for all attendee's to be respectful of others. I am one those banded bitches who has worn a bright colored shirt to each M&G and plan to continue the same practice. I have personally shared my journey to support others never to lower anyone's self esteem or point out fault of others. I wish you well. I also hope you share your journey here on YT.
@NurseRN1975 I'm thankful for skymoon1982, bandedwendy and so many others that are able to put themselves out there. It really helped me in deciding to get WLS. They should be proud of their weight loss. When I get to goal like them, I'm not holding back because others might have low self-esteem. That's not the way to go through life. Didn't we all go through this kind of crap when we were really obese, being discounted as no good and crappy because we were fat. So now your getting blasted because you have worked your butt off to be healthy and look good. No way. Ignore it. Mel, I enjoyed meeting you in Vegas. I saw you as SHY (just like ME!) and not conceited or acting better than anyone. I was actually shocked by you being shy because you don't seem shy on video. But I loved seeing that side of you in person! I had a great time there and have no idea where all this negative junk has come from, but I didn't see anything ugly out there and loved every minute of it!
Please don't isolate yourself, I look forward to your videos.. i am someone who is just starting my journey and although i have not had surgery yet ( going thru some insurance issues) I find the information you give helpful.. I was sick and did not get to meet many people. This was my first meet & greet & I really tested my boundries by even going. Melanie you went to Las Vegas to have a good time and attend the meet and greet with wls community. The problem is people watch your videos and think that they know you. Its easy to talk on camera when your alone or in your on element. They are judging u when then speak negative things when they see u in person and they dont like how u r. Your young, beautiful, and u have came a long way. You dont have to explain yourself cause we know how happy u are. U inspire me to be positive wit the band.

We can only respond as our internal nature allows us to respond. It was such a large group of people. It is scary for me. I found that the round table session that I was able to attend let me be me. I know from going to quite a few of these events (Allentown, Savannah, San Antonio, Vegas) tobe present to limited number of people. I found ways to have time with a limited number of people to get to know them better. Walking to the Strip with Andrea, giving Alfred & Connie a bed at 3 am. Linda

Shy is normal for first meeting strangers,so if people can't understand that they are insane and you can't give personal attention to every single person that shit is crazy if they thought that. Of course your gonna be different around others when you record your alone. So you need time to warm up to people and to me 3 days is not enough time to.

Like I said on FB I am exactly the same way as far as anxiety. I clung to Rosemary and Connie because I've met them before so I felt comfortable around them but anyone else that walked up to me I tried to be pleasant but I felt a wall go up because of my anxiety. I hate it and people mistake it for me being a bitch or a snob. I always get "When I first met you I thought you were mean." always.

I've meet & bumped into many of my subscribers in person, and I know I'm different face-to-face. I actually state in videos that in person I"m shy and I suck at small talk lol. It's awkward because they know me but I don't know them...I've found that those who matter and know my true spirit are supportive whether I'm outgoing or more closed in when met in person. My motto is "fuck them"....they are unimportant to you. Let them talk...it shows their ugliness and your beauty!

But when you and your weight loss friends show up at a conference that consists of (some) people with low self esteem and people that have or are still having major issues with their weight, and wear these bright tight labeled color tank tops.....you are asking for attention and placing a spot light on yourselves.

@NurseRN1975 Hmm. Your 2 cents are worthless to me. Are you a WLS patient? I checked out your channel and I see nothing about you. Did you attend the 1st M&G Feb 2010 or the 2nd May 2011? If you did or have watched all of the videos on this channel you would then understand the meaning behind the shirts. Every person at the M&G is the same. We all struggle with obesity. Most if not all have had WLS. It is an event that ALLOWS us to celebrate our hardwork and dedication.

Didn't we all go through this kind of crap when we were really obese, being discounted as no good and crappy because we were fat. Its easy to talk on camera when your alone or in your on element. They are judging u when then speak negative things when they see u in person and they dont like how u r. We can only respond as our internal nature allows us to respond. It was such a large group of people. It is scary for me. I found that the round table session that I was able to attend let me be me. I know from going to quite a few of these events (Allentown, Savannah, San Antonio, Vegas) tobe present to limited number of people. I found ways to have time with a limited number of people to get to know them better. Walking to the Strip with Andrea, giving Alfred & Connie a bed at 3 am. Linda

Like I said on FB I am exactly the same way as far as anxiety. I clung to Rosemary and Connie because I've met them before so I felt comfortable around them but anyone else that walked up to me I tried to be pleasant but I felt a wall go up because of my anxiety. I hate it and people mistake it for me being a bitch or a snob. I always get "When I first met you I thought you were mean." always.

I met you at the Vegas Meet and Greet and found you to be an incredibly warm and giving person. I also found it very touching that you guys (the banded bitches) have been able to develop such great friendships through your common journeys. I've meet & bumped into many of my subscribers in person, and I know I'm different face-to-face. I actually state in videos that in person I"m shy and I suck at small talk lol. It's awkward because they know me but I don't know them...I've found that those who matter and know my true spirit are supportive whether I'm outgoing or more closed in when met in person. My motto is "fuck them"....they are unimportant to you. Let them talk...it shows their ugliness and your beauty!
