Regarding Ruf, he is not in jail nor does he build race cars. But his street cars are raced.

Take this car for example, besides track events this Ferrari DE/lapping day, this RUF CTR2sport had run in 47 road races (mainly Porsche Club and historic car races). It did pretty good, finishing on the podium in almost 80% of those races:

1st 19 of those races (40%)

2nd place in 12 races (26%)

3rd in 6 races (13%)

In addition to road racing, this RUF has run many hill climbs, It placed 2nd at Pikes Peak in the Open Division and it won the much faster Virginia City Hill Climb three years in a row, setting and resetting the all-time hill record twice in the process

But perhaps all these drivers are just a bunch of wankers…yet if that’s the case, the RUF driver is a wanker as well.

Obviously the other drivers were not that good, the Porsche is a great car with a competent driver. However, to think that the Ruf is a race car that can out perform a 333 race car both driven by race drivers is rediculous. If this was accurate then we would see Ruf Porsche's win races, fully loaded with the radio and A/C on. Never happened and Ruf never won a race that I know about. I think he is in jail now. The drives of the other cars are wankers.

this is BS, the 333 was even getting passed by some Ferrari 360, the 333 is obviously not trying. Porsche might have more torque, but in a full on competition race the 333 would lap the Porsche.

Can you imagine the RUF with newer turbos ? Twin Bullseye S256's ... HAHA, better response, efficiency and way more power. If you have the money to buy a CTR2 Sport what's another $2k for two turbos? It is obvious that the 333SP were not driven hard but 1:40 is a prime example of how well the RUF accelerates vs a 333SP. The RUF has way more torque then the Ferrari could dream of, and torque gets things moving, even though it weighs 600lbs more.

Is this Pocono? It's the first time I seen any video featuring Pocono's road course. While it's one of the most unique ovals anywhere, I've never seen its road course until scoping out this video. Thanks for posting this.

How stupid do think people are? The Ferrari has 650HP, the Porsche 469HP, and it's 310 kg lighter.

I think enthusiast's are smart enough to know a RUF from a Porsche and to know how to look up the specs on a RUF CTR2sport to find that its 589hp. But I don't expect ethusiasts to know that Alois Ruf downplays peak HP - and as such, understates his HP numbers, or that RUF engines are all about torque with a linear torque curve over a usable RPM band.(note how the RUF pulls the 962 when the Porsche's torque falls off at the top end).

I agree.. but clearly the video shows the speed at 156 when the CTR pasess the 333SP, the 333 could easily have accelerated to 200 in seconds if it so chose to...

Are you serious? even with a 1000 hp in the CTR the 333 would smoke the porsche. The 333 is a race car, made for one thing only, be the fastest thing around a track possible. The CTR is infact a roadgoing car, a comfortable way to go really fast.

It took some time for me to decide if i should reply, you clearly know nothing of racing. I passed a Lambo, a bentley and a merc amg with my 96 Corolla the other day, is my Corolla a supercar then?
