Great.... Next there is going to be NHRpA for prius' and teslas.... Why not watch Larry Larsons Nova thats street legal and runs 6's? That is impressive. Diesels should stick to there roots. Pullin things. They are not fast. So go back to pullin a sled!
Dude what was the E.T. and the speed? Other dude I gotta wait for the exhaust to clear! Oh shit dude 8.842 at 154.10 mph! Lmfao diesels are great man but drag racing with one must one hell of a smokey affair? Lol
THATS WHAT I CALL,.GETTTIN YA PULL!!,.AND FER A OIL BURNER?,.THATS SUM RACEIN PONYS THERE FER SURE!!,.HOOK IT UP TO A STUMP,.BETCHA IT`LL REMOVE IT!!,..LOL,..HAVE A GREAT DAY!
you guys seem to forget banks is running a nitrous and a controller to clean up the smoke on the sidewinder and i do believe this car is running fuel only which would put this car in a none power adder class and the sidewinder in a different class that allows for nitrous so an 8.60s on fuel only is a pretty good feat to accomplish especially with a mechanical fueled engine sidewinder has a custom ecm to control its common rail injection system
@jonesd5o There is no non-power adder class in diesel. At the very least they are all turbocharged. A diesel is very limited in it's power production without increased manifold pressure.
Folks a very good example of an uneducated response! Yes, to an extent, smoke is an effect of overfueling. On the other hand, overfueling is needed at lower rpms to accomodate the increased amount of airflow the turbocharger/s are producing at high rpms along with reducing egt's. Good job evanmirevamir!
@lilredflatbed Are you aware that fueling can be set separatly for each rpm range? You can set less fuel when turbocharger is not fitted and more fuel when the boost kiks in. I don't think you will learn me anything about diesel engine, I tune them for a living. More than 4 FSN doesn' t get more power, except to kill the atmospher or to show up it has no need to smoke like that.
You don't know what you are talking about. Nitrous is not a fuel. It is an oxidizer. It allows the engine to burn more fuel and air, resulting in a more powerful combustion. The gas itself is not flammable. Also, the evaporation and expansion of liquid nitrous oxide in the intake manifold causes a large drop in intake charge temperature, resulting in a denser charge, further allowing more air/fuel mixture (or just air, for a diesel) to enter the cylinder. READ A BOOK JACKASS!
My answer was to nodnreh911 that says a diesel truck went 7.77, I check that video and the truck went high rpms without smoke, imposible for a drag diesel and in this video this car actually makes smoke that means ti can be considered diesel because it mainly uses it.
I assume you are talking about the Banks Sidewinder. WTF do you mean "considered" a diesel? BOTH OF THEM ARE DIESELS! They both run on 100% diesel fuel! I BUILD THESE ENGINES FOR A LIVING!!!! I know all about how they work. Like I said, NITROUS OXIDE IS NOT A FUEL. The Sidewinder doesn't smoke because it is perfectly tuned. Don't post comments like yours unless you have a clue what the hell you are talking about.
Also wanted to add that the Cummins in my truck runs over 5500 RPM's It makes a lot of smoke because it uses mechanical fuel injection. The Duramax in the SIdewinder is a common rail EFI system. It allows a wide range of tuning parameters which is why Banks was able to make it run so clean. So, running high RPMs without smoke is NOT impossible. Just difficult. Stay in school kid.

That's not "diesel" that car uses almost 80% of nitrous and 20% of diesel, this seems at least 90% diesel.
