All phones on the market get updates quite often, and noone complains about you being unable to trade the old one in for a new one. as an example, Sony Ericsson releases new models here and there, and there's no trading anywhere I can see. so just because the iPhone is the iPhone, you can't just expect apple to be that nice. in addition, you can not sync it with itunes properly and only able to use wifi portion. RIM data and windows mobile data seem to cause big problems. We have about 11 3G devices including some data devices, and live video calling on the cell phones. If 3G is not availible in the boonies for example..you will drop down automatically to the next best EDGE network. Our pc cards and usb modems peak speeds at 7.2 mbps on HSPA network(3G)...faster than a lot of ppls hardwired home internet connection.
