my biggest problem is Ive been shooting some really nice stuff with my canon 7D in 24p 1920x1080 and when i put the stuff off of my HDD onto my computer's desktop the video looks fine, but it's when I try to import it and render it into fcp that the video quality gets awful,. The 7D makes near-to-film images but when fcp is done with it, it looks worse than a sd webcam... now Ive tried many ways to trans code it in mpeg streamclip, but I don't think it has any relation,
I am having this exact same problem. Every time I render something into fc it just all goes to hell and looks terrible. If you have found a way to fix this could you please tell me.
One thing that I found helpful was when transcoding in mpeg streamclip, use apple intermediate codec as the compressor... not sure what it does, but it make my footage look really good after I import it.
My big problem now is how to put my finished project on a DVD with out making it look like total crap.
I'm using imovie and it's compressing it some how because its making it look not as ggod as it does in fcp.
My video when using any method comes out stretched i record in 1280 720 and the item properties on final cut show that size, but it always comes out streched, can you help me?
thanks for the video. I'm using Adobe premiere elements (suck), and I'm not sure if I can do this on that program. But I'm pretty sure I'll be switching to Final Cut on a mac soon. Thanks!
Thank you i use your tut everytime i convert for youtube :) But i have a problem... My camera is taking 4:3 ratio and when I convert my video goes all squished!
Hi, hey i have a clip but it was recorded with a analog camera whenever i look @ the render bar its a lite color purple and says media file .any guess there?
Hi. Thanks for the tutorial. I need to export a video soon to post onto vimeo. It was shot on a canon XL2 video camera. Even though a very good quality camera, it is not HD. Do i still follow the same settings you have chosen or do i need to use different settings?
Thanks...by the way...is 720p only available for professional camcorder?and is the little consumer camcorder only have 1080i but no combination of both?
They are both HD formats. 1080i, like any resolution, can be scaled to 720p.
720p is the format that is used the most by youtube and other online HD video streamers. The size of 1080 is too big for sites at the moment, hence the reason why I focused on exporting in the universal format.
What settings would I use to export for large screen like a conference or something? The presentation is tomorrow and I'm trying to get the highest quality for large screen. Quick response would be appreciated from anyone. Thanks!
i got a sony v1u an im having trouble exporting... think you can help me out???

but does my video have to be recorded in hd?
Diamondinn 2 years ago
No, you can scale any video up or down. Obviously it won't be as high quality as the real thing, but it will work.
