No I'm not talking about the 7D having continuous AF.  I own a 7D and know first hand it doesn't have continuous AF in video mode.

does anybody knows if the continuous focus will still working when we manually set the depth of field? in other words make the background blurry, but keep the main object still in focus while it's moving

It does, yes. AFC is active no matter what other settings you pick, as long as you don't use iA and/or change AutoFocus setting (duh) ;-)

AVCHD uses MORE compression, which is why the bitrate is much less than MJPEG, and why you can see compression artifacts that aren't apparent in MJPEG.

The video quality will make it a huge success. Find another camera of similar quality that has AF (none of the DSLR's can do video while focusing)

i may be wrong but i think that the canon 7d has live video autofocus.

id stil prefer the gh1 though

My comment about DSLR's not having AF for video was 7 months ago - before the 7D came out.
