And this is why I love rescue videos by people with big hearts. There is nothing I love more than to watch a caring individual show compassion, and immense affection for an animal in need of help and nurturing. I strongly commend you for your actions. A very inspirational and positive video.
You guys did exactly the right thing putting him back. Kudos to you! I work a a bird rehab center and too often we get babies that have become imprinted on people because the silly people thought they were helping it after it "fell" from the tree. Putting it back in the tree almost always saves the owls life. So good job!
More than likely what happened: Owls leave the nest very young, they can't fly but rather hop on branches. The parents would not have kicked it out of the nest. Sometimes ( many times) they end up on the ground. Although the owl is ok. and they clamour up a tree as shown here, it is no less a very dangerous time for them as predators can easily get them. Great effort on your part to save it !!
Music is pretty lame but the owl is AWESOME. Brought tears to my eyes. I want to go owl hunting because of this video. that is hunting for a pet. heheheheheheehehehehehehehe
We don't need to make all animals pets this is not Disneyland. I would not be touching that bird so much when you make them not afraid of people you endanger them.
lol, they tricked the parent owls into believing their runt was tougher than they thought. i suppose its better that way. a wild animal may need human assistance, but being wild, they must have their independence from humans.
the owl we had since many years died and left us with 3 baby owls. my younger brother feeds them like this woman here. I kept the white one which is totally cute. It likes to stay on his tree in the morning and quietly moves on my terrace at night
I love owls. I would love to have one as a pet. They are such mysterious and magical birds. I sincerly hope that this cute owl that you found and nurtured was not exposed to that background music on your inspiring video.
Fantastic!! Kind of makes you feel all warm and fuzzy :-) I had to rescue four baby burrowing owls just 2 days ago from their flooded burrow and returned them the following morning after fixing up their home after the storm. It wan not nearly as elaborate as your rescue with the tree climbers and all. But I still got the same rewarding feeling knowing they are home safe with their parents where they belong. Great job!
I'm a conservationist at C.C.C, you did a great job and the bird looked healthy and beautiful. Next time try feeding him small mice instead of chopped up chicken(it's nasty, I know). There is no such thing as chopped up chicken in the wild and the bird might get used to it and not feed from the parents if he is returned. He will have abetter chance of survival if you try to feed him natural prey. He was probably looking for her, Hence the second fall. Love story.... Beautiful =)
WONDERFUL, enchanting, brilliant both the video and the music.

He is absolutely adorable, and he did look very tame; but I am very glad to see him go back to the wild where he belongs. Owls need to be free.
