  • pretty good if u had a better acoustic it would be prime! but im sure your already in love with the one you got

  • You get a great sound, like eveness of tone.I see that you are using a very thick pick-it seems to like add contour to the thinner strings- sort of leveling the range out, I guess?Very, very smooth sprinting flury of notes-I've never seen anyone get such good use from a super heavy pick! GREAT PLAYING!!!!

  • Wonderful.

  • Pretty much every song I wrote several years ago had chords quite a lot like these. It's a beautiful thing.

  • Great! I love the fusion.

  • Really natural

    *****

  • i do not know much about guitars. but how come the sound hole thingy looks different then other guitars? is this a different king of guitar?

  • excellent

  • Great! I really like it

  • Very nice! Nothing to say your impro is really great!

  • wow this is great it just sounds so smooth

  • Oh Man..That sure is a hefty pri..er pick..and you do do some pretty cool things with it..!!

  • Almost all Manouche guitarists use those super fat picks.

This is great, by the way... I just wish that the guitar had been more prominent in the mix.

  • What do you mean you worked on playing melodies string by string?

I would like to gain the fluidity you have!

  • some music teachers tell you to get familiar with each string individually like try doing a solo on one string.

  • am i right to say gypsy jazz is really about just great phrasing and flavor

  • +333

    BIRILIANT

  • Very good!!! Nice style....

  • NICE!!!!

  • very well played dude !

    the melody is awesome ..

    i like it !

    .

  • What is the brand of your beautiful guitar ? thanks and nice music by the way.

  • bonne guitare et bon musicien !!

  • Good work man! I have a question: Where do you learned those scales? I want to learn it too, i'm little beginner in gypsy jazz, i know a lot of arpegios, but i want scales now.

    Thanks,

    Stefan.

  • Thanks Stefan for the kind words. I never really studied scales, per se. I worked on playing melodies string by string and eventually connected everything. Patterns fell into place naturally, as they do with everyone over time. Definately spend time on the major scale first and play it everywhere on the neck while over some basic chords in the background. Start on diiferent notes within the scale (modes). There's a lot of music hanging out there in the major scale, as boring as it may seem.

  • Very nice man !!!!

  • do anybody knows where i can get jazz scales?

  • beautiful. got me inspired

  • niceeee

  • nice job Djang!!

  • cool, may I know what pick do you use?

  • its called a Wegen Pick

  • Excellent work man. I dig the drawers.

  • There you go..raising that bar,,even higher..Man..I really dig what you are doing..WORD..!!

  • ca aide d'avoir travailler les gammes ;)

en tous cas c bien , ca me donne envie d'acheter une quitare comme la tienne. Peux tu me conseiller?

  • this is ace

  • very nice sound and improvisation...is this a wegen pick?

  • Thanks! Yes, I was using a Wegen gypsy jazz pick (the ultra fat one). Definately takes some adjustment time!

  • looks like you are playing with remnants of a bar of soap

  • well done! great improvising it really swings

  • Nice P.J.'s

  • Hoo!

  • i liked it. tasty.

  • so wait its improviesd? idk srry my skill in theory is horrible -_-'

  • great playing! I do the same kinda thing to practice, with a loop station. I've been a stanley jordan type tap-guitar player for a long while now, but within the last year or 2 started getting into the gypsy-django sound...it never gets old!

  • if i was a great guitarist like u i would always play in my pjamas. Pantalons!

  • That's an amazing mix, great job!

  • I love all Jazz Guitar, especially Gypsy Jazz Guitar. And I've never been a fan of Classical, to me I dislike Classical a lot- too many arpeggios for me and they're usually in Harmonic Minor, Aeolian, or in some cheesy type of major scale. I love Jazz because of the freedom for substituting and melodic scale jumping.

  • it's fine that you don't like classical, but what you wrote made no sense (about modes and all that stuff) hahahaha.

  • i tried. i just don't have the classical taste

  • Nice PJ´S...XD

  • Love that ''Gypsy'' style on the Maccaferri type Guitar! 8-)

  • what are the background chords?

  • sounds really nice and soothing!

  • Most excellent man, kinda reminds me of Django Reinhart, very smooth playing! Big 5 stars!

  • Very nice playing. I'm just getting into Gypsy Jazz myself after many years of other styles and I must say...it's alot of fun to play.

  • EXCELLENT playing. Would you please post a video explaining a few of your thoughts on improvising? Maybe show us a few examples. Thanks!

  • have you recorded the progression? where i can found it? thanX

  • I recorded it over a year ago as a practice track and eventually erased it...sorry, but thanks very much for listening!

  • its pretty good. i found the altumn leaves's chord progession on the net. and up more videos of you playing if you have it. i'll apreciate.

  • Wow, is that a Selmer?

  • It's actually a Dupont MD50M (with maple back and sides)...a copy of a Selmer .

  • i love this.... so beautiful..

  • Beautiful

There's a fine balance between the slower bits and the exploding accelerations - like a conversation between both - and this gives soul (besides dexterity) to your style

  • Fantastic!

I'am learning this style with a friend. Could please show us how did you did your last lick in the last song?

    Thanks again!

    Chris

  • From your hand positioning and your left hand finger movement you look like your usually a shredder, this right?

  • you play very well. I added you to my favorites

  • very nice, well played, a bit soft though, gotta hit those strings lol

  • I am Gypsy and you play beautiful

  • you are wonderful how did you to learn to play gypsy jazz i want to start but dont know where to begin, i know my scales modes and arps but i cant get them to sound jazzy....i guess its my timing. Beautiful playing, i wonder if you could tell me where you got your backing please, also if you used tabs, sheets, real books or just started experimenting to backings :S haha its so wonderful and i so want to play it :)

    Merry christmas

    Brian

  • nice pickin'. got that big fat Wegen pik? how can yu fit that thing between the strings? mellow tone for a maple body. sounds like a cool breeze. hope you get to play out. Keep swingin'.

  • real nice played also very good sound!!!

  • I don't know what you mean, that Dupont just sings; sounds soooo nice. And those jammies are just so Django too, maybe not. Great playing.

  • Sounds great. What kind of guitar are you playing?
