  • In the first few minutes of that film is just a "musical intro" just to remind you so you don't say "WTF is that are they singing the same song for entire time of that movie" and again. Thank you.

  • Please go to my channel and look for Morozka 2010 Full Movie. Which is a remake and is a musical version of this movie But not the same one. Thank you And please read the description. The film is in russian. And apologies, no english subs/dubs

  • Where can I find the English-dubbed version of this movie?

I saw this movie when I was a kid and again on the Mystery Science Theater 3000 show.... and everyone in my family has been looking for a copy of it for years, but we can only find the version in original Russian or in English sub-titles. Can anyone tell me where the English-dubbed edition is? THANK YOU.

  • @hmghosthost I'm sorry, but I don't know the answer to your question.

  • @hmghosthost There's no english dub edition I think,it wouldn't be good idea to make something like that.

  • Love this!!! I heard the vocal edition of this story from my babushka years ago!!

  • @Sennuba I have to give that a "yes and no" answer. On the one hand you have here Father Mushroom, Father Frost being personifications of seasons in the forest (autumn, winter) as from an old Slavic folk tale. Ded Moroz with snegurochka is more of a Soviet "secularised" (as if he were not secular enough already) version of Father Christmas or Santa Claus, and they tapped into the same ideas as for this. Hence Ded Moroz who appears on New Year cards in Soviet Russia is dressed in blue as here.

  • Morozko Is not from USSR but from SSSR.

  • @Zikisski You know what? You're absolutely right, except for the tiny detail that I wasn't speaking Czech, and in English the word "svaz" is, like, not comprehensible unless you say "union", which kind of starts with a "U". For future reference, you'll know when I'm speaking Czech because it will be all haceks and dlouhe e and all that houby. If you don't see any Czech letters or Czech words, there's a good chance I'm actually writing some other language. Hth.

  • @Zikisski : SSSR is russian. but when the same words r translated into english, its USSR. if u remember ANYTHING of english lessons from back then (like i do).

  • Jack frost has nothing to do with CHRISTmas. It is an atheistic figure, created by the Russian communists ;). Of course for children it does not really matter. Just a nice movie. I grew up with Czech, Russian and Polish children movies and they were 1000times better than all this current computer animated trash. W.Disney was of course also very nice.

  • @markus1234 I never suggested that there was any religious element to this. As far as the Soviet Union was concerned it was all Novy God anyway, until communism disappeared and people started putting the God back into "Novy God" with Christmas, but they have it in January anyway. Western Santa Claus is not a Christian figure anyway. I would go so far as to say that Santa Claus is an anti-Christian figure, rewarding those who claim themselves to be good, rather than forgiving the penitent.
