  • We are just what we are. If you walk into a toilet and somebody asks you what your 'gender' is, why not tell them. 'I have female biology(as far as I know).' You might even add that 'I prefer to act like a boy sometimes because I feel like one sometimes'. You might even add that you are atracted to women sometimes. There really is no problem for people who know that 'I am what I am.'

  • @Sarusource It would be ideal if I could say all that, but it's just not safe where I live, I'd really be asking for trouble.

  • I get that. I'm not always comforable with genderqueer. Queer, sure. 'Cause my gender is odd, but I'm not half and half or 80%/20% or anything like that. I'm not a "butch" or a "femme". I'm just... blah. But not in a bland way. In an indefinite way, or an ineffable way. I know what I feel, there are just no words for it. Why should there have to be words for gender? Why can't gender just be fluid and versatile and nameless? Why must people be treated like soup cans that need to be labled?

  • I loved your video !!! great job... also I agree with you about being genderless I do not know how to put a name on what I am and Have been looking into it to really get a educated idea...but honestly why dose it matter ?? this is what I got from your video..

  • so my buddy andrewkiwi said you spin poi?! do you have any vids?

  • Hey. I'm in no position to answer your question but i do want to address people asking you if you're a boy or a girl. It happens to me quite a lot and I try not giving them an answer as much as I can. I don't really have an answer for them and their confusion about my gender is a small price to pay. They can work around me, I don't have to work around them... so yeah, I usually don't answer or ask them something like "what's it to you?" . They don't need to know, I'm just walking to the store

  • i have been an unedcauted. on the aspects of my own life until very recently when my wife left me.... but i am intersexed and "bi" best way for words.. i consider myself with out gender. but i grew up mormon annd i just act the way i was raised.. i generaly talk one way "it makes other people feel ok to be around me" when people show that they actually care and want to get to know me then i will talk about my xxy and klinefelters and my sexuality.. and all that

  • thoroughly loved your post, thank you. it introduced me to the word cisgendered, which intrigues me, as i've never really wanted to conform to either gender. cheers,

    unisex bathrooms for all!

  • Thanks for being out there and taking the hits for our sake. Nice work on the vid, and don't let the bastards grind you down ; )

  • spot the ignoramus. thanks for reading the title of one of my videos and then commenting. sorry pal, but gender and sex/biology are different things. do a spot of research. bye now.

  • There's no confusion. Most cisgendered girls act feminine and most cisgendered boys act masculine and both this, and the thought that this is "destiny" are a result of social conditioning. My gender transgresses that social conditioning, ergo, I am transgender, or more specifically, genderqueer. More importantly, I am not a threat to cisgender identities, which I find perfectly acceptable. So using "tranny" in a derogatory way is quite unnecessary.

  • @ToxicOdiousOne You're an ignorant twat. I actually cannot believe that people still think that way.

  • this video brings up a lot of issues i have at the minute. i thought i knew who i was and started hormones to become happier within myself and even befor any changes had the chance to occor i realised it wasnt my path. now im in the genderless genderqueer queer andro who the fuck knows kind off area which i thought i was past but i think im posibly a gender rebel.

    great video

  • @nailskepttidy Were you molested?

  • So sad that there's prejudice even within the LGBT community. Biphobia and transphobia are disgusting. >.>

  • great video! As to intolerance from gays and lesbians, note that in most versions of the LGBTQQIXYZ thing, the only one that even remotely relates to androgyny is "intersex", and even then it's not a great fit because many IS people have traditional male/female gender identities.

Fact is that people with an innate mixed or "other" gender identity exist, but even among "queer" groups outside the mainstream it's often still seen as an aberration rather than just a normal variation of gender ID.

  • This was a really good video! I'm thinking deeply about my female/maleness, they both are what they are, the qualities we posess in either gender are just that. I think we should define ourselves by simply 'BEING' ;) I can't think of any other way to put it...

  • "what is it that makes us "male" or "female"?"

    nice

i am not as calm and as clear as you are...or as straight to the point....but i am glad i found you!

    thanks a lot!

  • thanks for this video!

  • yes...i think we are expanding it too far......or else we should just start adding all the important letters together and removing some and spelling....P-E-O-P-L-E

i am technically intersexed....so i would be the "I" part

i think the only queer thing about this whole issue is that many homosexuals do have a problem with trans and intersex and dont understand the difference

    its mad isnt it!?!

actually they dont have a unisex bathroom most of the time for me the "I"

i have to say "no" to m or f!

  • Haha trueee storryyyy!!

totallly reminds me of Ivan E. Coyote, this fantassstic queer writer- Ivan says "I am a primarily estrogen based organism...." when asked if a guy of a girl

  • where i live most people are forced to stay in the closet, or else other people will mock them until something happens its sad to watch all of this

  • erm...what about "genderfull"?-or is that just like the "regular"(m/f) population?

    just an afterthought...

  • genderfull sounds like a good word :D not sure if i could use it to describe me though! i do have gender, but i think it only makes fleeting appearances...

  • You know, that whole bathroom thing happens to me in real life all the time. People come in the bathroom, go out and look at the sign, then go back in....akward.

  • I identify as gay but I am an mtf transgender woman. I believe as a gay transgender woman I have a level of compassion, love, peace, and desire to gain unity that helps me love others who are different from myself. I feel we need to unite as a planet and even further unite just as beings that are--we exist and so we should unite peacefully. Not everyone is looking into being peaceful, but I feel we need to give everyone his or her own chance to take their own pace on his or her 'Transition'

  • I was logged into TSG when I saw your video. However, the above post is mine. Great video.

    Peace and Love,

  • diana, your a big old dork :P

i do that all the time too

    sarah

  • thanks for the video. i really connected to the way you express yourself. I have a question for you, which i am thinking about myself. Why do you connect with the word "genderless" rather than "gendermore" or "genderall" or "gendereverything"-thanks and have a great week

  • The difference between a gay person who denies trans people's identities or issues and a redneck bigot is pretty slight. I suppose the gay person in question is less prone to violence, but just cuz you're not physically beating someone up DOES NOT mean you are being cool, wise, thoughtful, or tolerant.

    Great vid.

  • indeed, there are probably even quite a few gay redneck bigots!

    anti-separatism is the answer!

  • People always either choose one or the other for me, and I always go along with either one. Also, when people ask if I'm a boy or a girl, I just say "sometimes". I identify as androgynous, but some days I'm more masculine or more feminine. Also, I wish your camera wasn't so blurry. :(

  • I often identify as androgynous too, but it's a tricky one, because the implication is definitely about appearance, as opposed to the internal self, so I try to note to folk that I am androgynous inside and out! :D

I'm sorry my camera is so terrible :( I am but a poor student, my little camera only works really well when there's lots of direct sunlight! The sun lamp doesn't really work, makes me look, not just pasty, but actually like a pastry.

  • "sometimes"! that's not bad!!

    nice nice

  • I TOTALLY THOUGHT YOU HAD A GLASWEEGAN ACCENT OMG OMG what a shock. hahaha!

    where were you originally from?

    nice video btw :D

  • sorry :P

it's all very hilarious because i am actually thoroughly glaswegian (originally and everything!)... just with a silly voice.

  • I was gonna say the same thing!
