These guys like to make fun of tight players like Schwartz all the time, but guess what? It works. Schwartz finished 4th, and in 2007, Tuan Lam, who they also made fun of, finished 2nd. Those are really high finishes for players of their calibur, simply because they fold everything.
I imagine is very tough to play against Eastgate, even Demidov said that he tried to avoid Eastgate heads-up because it's very very tough to read him. He doesn't give away many tells at all.
The bet would have worked on the turn for Schwartz because almost everything on the board was higher than his fives. On the river it almost worked because Eastgate looked like he thought Schwartz had Kings full. But being big stack, once he hit his full house there was no way he couldn't call.
I agree with the last comments, but Ylon would have saved himself a lot of chips with a nice big reraise rather than pushing all in. Great bluff, bad timing, stupid move.
I wouldnt exactly call it a stupid move if you consider that there was 12,000,000 in the pot and he had 17,000,000 left, well, its tricky since its a push or fold situation or maby not its a very hard desicion for him. id say it was bad timing since that 5 hit on the river.
ylon is a great player and he showed alot of class when he got eliminated
Yeah, I see you are right there. I did not notice the size of the pot. But yeah, I wrote the bad timing as well, I mean he must have had some kind of a read on Eastgate, Or maybe of course that was just his plan all along to let Peter push the action like he was and then represent a slow played king on the river. Who knows, he might have even thought that Peter missed his flush.
wow that was a great bluff by a very good player, schwartz has got skills, and if eastgate wouldn't have got lucky it would have worked for sure, unlucky in that situation.
ylon probably had a good idea of where eastgate was at on flop and turn, and couldnt see how a 5 was going to help eastgate. a good bluff, just bad timing.
Eastgate played with class that final table,he didn't donk or scream like a moron even when he won

very good point you brought up that I never thought of. I didn't think about the fact that Schwartz was the first one to act.
