do you have this process somewhere else on the web in a sort of list form? step by step type thing where i can see all the steps laid out in front of me?
Is it a bad thing if u keep the eggs with the mother if they are located right above the heat tape? Should the eggs be on the cooler side of the enclosure? I have a rack with 4-41 quart tubs from boaphile.com. I have 2 strips of heat tape on one side. Each strip has it's own separate plug, so I can have only one running if I want to.
@oooMARTYNooo The mother is definitely capable of incubating her own eggs.. I personally do not use this method, nor recommend it, as i prefer a 100% hatch rate..
The moms will lay where in an area that they feel is ideal for brooding. Heat isn't as much an issue here as humidity. Many keepers have difficulty keeping humidity in a comfortable range for their pythons. Most balls can and will tolerate low humidity levels but eggs can desiccate if the humidity in the female's enclosure isn't kept above 60%. Humidity will be closer to 100% within her coils. I've maternally incubated all of my clutches and haven't lost a single egg this way.
right now i hav a male and hes 5munths old born june18 2010 and im looking forward to getting a female for him in 2011 season
also my 20 gal tank stayes at 80deg in day and around 75at night
i use two bulbs at same time a 60w on warm side and 50w on cool side i keep water dish on warm side to help humidity and a hide on both sides with the tropical terrarium soil that u mix woth 3l of water and its a dirt brick and im wpndering if its good i should have it at least 90deg in day 80deg at night
so pairing starts september 1st put them in with femal for 5days straight after the lock then 2day break in their own cages then keep doing that everyweek till u see swelling(ovulation) then stop pairing and leave her alone but still (try ) to feed every week? and eggs come out in may
We're seeing a 10x close up of a snake's cock and I can't make a joke? Grow down. Loosen that top button on your collar. Besides; Dodge trucks have got a Hemipenis too... Uh Oh I just cracked another.
Awesome tutorial - couldnt be said easier, im new to the bp breeding and just started building my set of bp, hopefully by next year ill have it down packed to were my snakes start breeding... thanks for the info... much props 5 stars!
Are you talking about re-matching up the same pair of ball pythons each time or are you talking about re-pairing the male to different females? Also, how do you know for sure when the male successfully locks up with a female? Thanks in advance.
nvm it was my comp. thansk so much man i cant wait to breed for the first time this year! this really helped alot. thank you again for this great video!
Yes you can leave a mother with her eggs. That is called "maternal incubation". The mother can do a very good job of incubating her own eggs, but by doing this you have less of a chance of a perfect hatch rate than you would with artificial incubation..
Hey Brandon, I am getting 5 Bp Norm Girls Tuesday this would make it 6 Norm Girls and 1 Cinni Boy. I am wondering what male you think I should get.
I am thinking to get another Cinni to make chances higher for Super Cinni but also leaning towards Mojave to make some sick Savannah's? What do you think I should go with?
Wow, you had some time on your hands to make this one Brandon LOL. Good job! I personally do my lighting and temp drops a little differently, but there are always slight differences in the way we all breed our snakes. Sometimes people need to make small "tweeks" with things to get the desired affect. Take Care, Brandon
Yea! LOL I Had nothing else to do... And yea, we all tweak it a bit as we're not all in the same conditions..
And I know you probably wanna see an update of the burm LOL And i havent made one.. But im waiting til xmas when i get my new Sony cx100 HD camcorder to make a nice HD update on him...

Would I need to separate my snakes after ovulation because I have 1 male living with 2 females in a 60g enclosure
pimpmix1 1 year ago
@pimpmix1 You should not be housing snakes together!! I highly recommend housing each adult ball python in their own 41 qt sterilite bin.
