Okay. Here's what you'll need to do:

1) Get and install the Homebrew Channel using the Twilight Hack. (I don't have a guide, but they're everywhere on the internet)

2) Once you've got the HBC installed, just follow the steps in my two part Gamma video, and you should be good to go.

Much easier and cheaper AND safer than using a chip.

i use memorex dvd-r at 8X SPEED if yer using image burn it shows description of dvd before u burn. there it says memorex dvd can handle UP TO 8x speed and it WORKS!

Yeah, it's really just personal preference. My personal computer only burns at like, 2x, but my family computer a lot more.

i have memorex which say 1x-16x but when i use nero its lowest is 4x

Nero just doesn't allow it. Try using ImgBurn. Also, make sure that they don't have white labels. Those get caught in the Wii's drive and throw errors (with no physical damage).

i have imgburn and it gives me the option to burn at 1x but in the side box it says the write speeds for the dvd-r are 4x,8x,12x,16x

so should i just go ahead and try to burn at 1x?

I installed the new loader, have both IOS 247 and 249 installed - when I try to run an ISO (bloombox NTSC) on my NTSC Wii, I get a wierd error message - 2 sentences on top of each other - makes it tough to read what's all about.. I can read "set" and "DVD".. no idea about the remaining words. Any idea?

Happened to me with BoomBlox also. But only once. All it took was ejecting and restarting the Wii, and it has worked every time.

i burnt it again on a memorex dvd-r mario cart wii ,so when i go to uninstall dvdx first then advance like u said i dont find iso 249 what am i doing wrong?

DVDx is not needed for v.3... but the option 249 is only found after installing rev 5 of the Cios. I guess try installing v.1 of the backup loader and see if that works. Have you tried any other games?

Uh, perhaps it was a bad burn? If it cant recognize it as a DVD, then something's really wrong. Try reburning first, then tell me if it still doesn't work. Also, which game is it?

Dual-Layer disks = BAD.

Also, +R's are bad... so you pretty much have the most opposite disk you could have.

Go for DVD-Rs.

Make a folder called BackupLauncher. Place your backuplauncher-v0.2.dol in that folder. Make sure to add a xml and png file in that same folder (you can use any xml or png file from any of your apps for now).
