I don't care to listen to any chakra deep hypnosis grilled tarpon psychoacoustic meditative brain-wave orientation overlay stuff. I'm happy with this and Steve Roach and Brian Eno and Robert Rich. This is the stuff.
This piece is magnificent. I can't seem to find words to describe the depth and soul that this song has; it's like an elemental sound at the very basic spiritual level, entering easily into the minds of mortals and carring them away into the stars... where we all belong. Absolutely breathtaking piece of music.
the title of this haunting song is RETURN OF THE RED HAT; it appears on michael stearns 1994 album w/ron sunsinger, "singing stones"...i have listened to it 100s of times over the years, and recently heard it used in a fascinating documentary on pbs about chaco canyon narrated by robert redford ( very highly recommended )...no problem with recycling this track, revamping it, whatever...it is one of the finest ambient pieces ever created...
This looks awesome. When and where is this documentary coming out at? I've got to buy a dvd of this... I LOVE Michael Stearns and timelapse photography!
Baraka is great; it's got Michael Stearns doing the music; but I think Koyaanisqatsi has Philip Glass, whose music I didn't care as much for... kind of drab and repetetive...

The thundering noise and distant chords at the beginning are from the opening track of Steve Roach - Kairos (recommended!).
This sounds more like a remix of various ambient stuff. The Baraka music is there too.

Have you ever heard Michael Stearn's "Her Way"? OMG, it's fantastic. I wish some1 would upload that. I don't know how to upload from my music files.

Great piece of cinematography. A good reminder that we don't own this planet at all.
