I actually cried out of happiness when I heard this arrangement.........I feel after so many years, our beloved Gurudev is getting the actual recognition and this arrangement shows, which is very simple actually, that Rabindrasangeet is the epitome of beauty, love, happiness, sometimes sorrow, if produced in such a manner.........JOB REALLY WELL DONE!!.......
Yes, I think this version is better than that of Lata. The melody is heart touching.
Love is a wonderful feeling, sometimes it is all about unrestrained joy. The sky seems to be ultra violet, the grass greener. On the other hand, at most of the times love brings sadness and pain which is a kind of acid test. Love gets purified and immortal when it passes filters of pain and sadness.
Yes better than Lataji's version but this better form is not good, not desirable. I saw somebody calling the singer "exponent of Rabindrasangeet" !!!!! . Toooo harsh on RS lovers. And pls we do not watch RS we listen to RS so the video is immaterial here. I hope everybody has listened to other renditions.
Khub ei bhalo geyeche gaan ta...eto pnpc korar ki aache....gaan tar integrity is still there....lata nijer moton geyeche..Jayati nijer moton geyeche....kichu noton jinish appreciate korle keu kom bangali hoye jabe naa...amara sobai bangali and amra sob somaye bangali der bhalo chaibo tai bole keu conservative hote bolchena..jeta bhalo seta ke just appreciate koro
@beingdoc I agree with you totally and completely disagree with stinging08 who seems to know everything about Rabindrasangeet. This wonderful rendition and musical arrangement as well as the picturisation seems to add a new freshness and heightens/enhances the meaning of the song. The overall cinematograghy of Ekti Tarar Khoje also has been excellent.
@tarangvu I never said there was anything wrong with the song. It is well within ur rights to agree or disagree with anything, but what I diagreed about was "typical bengali culture" statement. the singer herself is an exponent of rabindra sangeet, and the song itself has been sung more or less sticking to the original form, so before "completely disagreeing" with someone, pls understand what was the point that I was trying to make!!
u knw wat the basic problem of these bengali fellas is..they r so stick to their typical 'bengali' culture that they dont find pleasure in anything othr than wats typical..if a song has been sung in a difrnt mood, den wat the fuckn wrong wit it??m nt a rabindranath specialist..neithr m i da greatest singer of ol time..bt being a music lover i can tag it as a good song..y compare sumthng new wt oldies?..they r of course very nice..bt this version is nt dat bad again..sorry 'bengali's..cant help...
@beingdoc it seems u don't know much about either rabindranath or rabindra sangeet. There is a difference between ur run-of-the-mill "songs" and rabindra sangeet. There was also a copyright issue before. But get informed first "fella!!" before generalizing.
agree with suchetangupta - the tempo or taal of the song has been greatly compromised..... although notes are been kept intact........ if you wanna feel the real flavor of this song listen this song in the voice of Sumitra Sen (mother of Indrani Sen & Srabaoni Sen)......
I am sorry...this one is lot better than "Lataji's" version. Lataji hardly could pronounce bangla words in her song..no comments about the melody. I loved it simply..
@gantein ..Are you fucking kidding me? Listen to this version and Lata bai's version. Just listen to the first word ..."Shokhi"... if you dont get it , listen to it a few hundred times, the comparison between the two songs...listen to just the first word like I said "shokhi". If you can comprehend music , you will know the difference. Otherwise its too late for you buddy.Music in some cases transcends words. This is one such case.
@tamalster If you do not know how to answer in a public forum simply do not do it. Your language is the reflection of your culture. What else can I expect from a person from such background? So I do not feel any urge to answer you.
@gantein Agreed. Just checked her version. Her accent, combined with the not-so-needed sweetness in the voice was the downer. This song is hardly about anything 'sweet'.

One should listen this song by Lata-ji, to understand how this could have been sung in a better way.
