Guild Wars Nightfall trailer

Yes the background was about the previous Guild Wars. But the rest of the game, the main plot, the Flameseeker Prophecies, very little was about wars between guilds.

That's what I'm saying. The background lore has so little to do with what ended up being the main plot of Prophecies, and the other campaigns barely try to reference guilds at all. It becomes a story of kings, nations, tribes and races.

The settings in Elona are really pretty... but frankly they're pretty in all the campaigns.

Yes, this was a pretty sad trailer compared to the others. Though I find it ironic that the title "Guild Wars" has just about nothing to do with guilds at war... Which is what the original Prophecies trailer suggested, but even the Prophecies story had nothing to do with...

@mcandymadman Really? There's reference to the Guild Wars in Prophecies, but it ended up being a story about a kingdom's survival, then a conspiracy and false gods. There was fighting between guilds in Factions, but it was a sideshow to the plague and the Luxon/Kurzick conflict. In Nightfall there weren't any guilds that I know of, no reference made.

If I'm missing something please let me know. I'm usually pretty good at lore, and it would bug me to miss something like that.

@umjackd The history of the game all starts because of guilds. The guilds from Ascalon, Kryta and Orr were all at war with each other untill a brief peace was made when the Charr started invading Ascalon, Orr, Kryta and reclaiming their homeland in Ascalon. The game is called Guild Wars because it's how the story begins, you can also make guilds in the game and in the trailer it says ' my father fought in the 1st guild wars'. Hence why it said thought because the war already stopped. Simple.

You just need one of Prophecies/Factions/Nightfall to play, and you must buy Eye of the North to have access to the HoM.

In order to get 30...I dunno, I think you can manage 20-25 ish (just guessing) on individual campaigns, but you need all 3 + GWEN to get the full 50...and it's considerably easier getting to 30 if you have all the boxes anyways.

@aaronconlin Guild Wars (also referred to as Guild Wars Prophecies), Guild Wars Factions, and Guild Wars Nightfall are all 'campaigns'. You can play a campaign independently without having to purchase any of the others, or you can link new campaigns to an older account. You can get a trilogy pack though for a pretty good price lately, so most people tend to get them together now. Guild Wars: Eye of the North is the only 'expansion' and requires one of the three campaigns to play.

Although they decided to not make a CG trailer for Nightfall, I don't "hate" this trailer. CG trailers don't really do much except prove the dev team can make eye candy. Whoopdy doo. It doesn't show anything related to gameplay. I still think the worst is the original Prophecies trailer. Factions was the only one that seemed to actually and have a connection with the actual story.

@Psycho294Ware Well, to me, all of the parts make one game. One part is just like a trail for the full game for me. The more parts you have, the epicer. I have bought them all at once for €40 and hell I don't regret it. However, At this late I would wait for GuildWars2 to come out instead if I where you. Look up the Mmo Manifesto trailer, It containst 10% of how epic the game is.

For the guys who plan buying this game - do it! No need to repair your weapons, nice farming spots even on normal difficulty WITH henchmen (in the area around mahnkelon ward I make 1,500 gold in one run with full group!!), a lot of skills, weapons and stuff + the 4 chests which grant you around 22k gold monthly if you find and open them all.

...The only "expansion" is eye of the north. Factions, NF and prophecies can all be played respectively by themselves. You only need one of the three to play. However, you have to have one of them to play EotN.

I hate walking. WoW had tons, too. Shame so many games start so slow, in case what you said is true I might have liked Runescape if I ever had the patience to get through the beginning. Guild Wars Prophesies has kinda the same flaw, they fixed it in the later expansions though.

Guild Wars still needs more time to learn how to play because it's not all about auto-attacking.... Guild Wars is propably the hardest game I've ever played, and there's no denying. They simply gave rites and helped to the workers in the early Medieval times and up to high Renaissance... Guilds were not houses, factions, kingdoms, or nations. They are just simply early Worker Unions, that's it. The closest they can be were Orders...

So yes it is an = to Union wars, like worker Unions are fighting each other with guns and tanks. For what? I do not know.
