Yes, it's fascinating to see an artist's interpretation change over the years. The later performance is more honed, and more penetrative of the heart of this piece, but this earlier account is still amazing for its sheer fearless assault. I don't know where his sound comes from - the depths certainly. Thanks for posting these wonderful rare audios of the master.
