  • I also love the fact that he is still showing genuine concern for Stacey, in the midst of a conversation with Tony. Even though he has personal concerns about Silas, he also takes time to involve himself with the entire Reardon clan.

  • I love the fact that Quint is just as comfortable cracking open a cold beer with Tony as he is pouring a VSOP at Thornway Road. It says alot about the friendship that he and Tony have forged. In fact, I think it's one of the best friendships I've ever seen in daytime history. I esp like the fact that he is Tony's "silent partner," to say nothing about Nola's movie posters decking Tony & Co. They kind of remind me of a local place here in Pittsburgh that my family and I all enjoy visiting.

  • Thank you for these wonderful clips. I do not remember these scenes at all. I sure felt for Quinton when he was told he could not see Stacey. He really loves that little girl.

  • @bsheffer1 That's the way I feel too. I've always thought Quinton was more of a Dad to Stacey than Floyd. It seemed like Floyd only wanted to be a "father" when it suited his purposes. Quinton, and even Mrs. Renfield, were always there for Stacey and Nola and always would be.

  • @QuolaFan1 Your right.Floyd was such a dick and never really ever was suited to be a proper father for Stacey.Quinton was always a better father for Stacey, even though he started off as Stacey's godfather, eventually he did adopt Stacey as his own, legally.Quinton fell in love with that little girl theday she was born in the hospital when it went to see Nola after she had Kelly Louise in the Snowstorm accident, remember?!

  • @thia912002 Does anyone have the scenes where Nola has Stacy and the following episodes after that? I don't remember them at all, and I'd love to see them.

  • @rcb1952oct My recommendation is check with retroglyph or inquire with quintnola either one of them might have them on BETA tapes somewhere buried. i used to own the wedding on audio but it got destroyed by accident, even I don't have my original copies of everything.Storage lockers back in the day caused more dameage than they do today, sorry to say.

  • @thia912002 I've looked on retroglyph - maybe I should ask retroglyph. In the summer of '09, I found the entire wedding somewhere on the internet - I think it was on geocities. When I went back to watch it again, it was gone, and I never found it. It was great to see it after all those years, and I wish I could have found it again.

  • @rcb1952oct i'm sorry to hear that.I would have loved to have the pleasure of borrowing clips from others to watch scenes I don't remember.Sounds like that would have been fun to watch the scenes of Nola arriving at her wedding on the fire truck. And the scenes of them in the limo and then the freeze frame scenes. What a hoot!

  • @thia912002 That's understandable. I just wish my family had had a VCR back then. I know I would have wanted to tape every possible moment from the beginning.

  • @QuolaFan1 Believe you/me i wish we had had one too.My dad at the time was too cheap to buy one,so i had to forgo the luxuries and record things on audio behind the jerks back, the quality was rough and a lot of the cassette tapes got ruined.

  • @QuolaFan1 I bought a VCR in the fall of '82 just to tape GL. I had been forced to return to work due to a lack of money :). I was working part-time and Mondays were the only day I worked all day. I was so upset about missing GL that we went out & bought a VCR. I think we were some of the first people in town to have one. I had forgotten about that until I read this.

  • @rcb1952oct I can't remember exactly when we got our first VCR. I know it wasn't a Beta. But it was definitely after Michael and Lisa left Guiding Light. But I think I always wished I had had one at that time. I do know I recorded much of the episodes with them in the 90's. I kept hoping the storyline would turn itself around. My original thought was that perhaps they were "faking" the affair for some reason. That way, they could have had some really fun meeting each other in private.

  • @QuolaFan1 I wish I had saved a lot of what I taped but it never crossed my mind to do that. I never watched the show after Quint & Nola left the show. When their last episode was shown, and as they walked out the door with their kids, I turned off the tv feeling as if I'd lost friends & I never watched the show again until the last few weeks of its existence in the hope of seeing Quint & Nola together on GL for one last time. I was horrified at what GL had become at the end.

  • @rcb1952oct I did watch Guiding Light a bit after they left. But it was never the same without them there. It was almost as though they were forgotten, except for an occasional mention of them, that I think I missed. Like you, I was also horrified at what TPTB did to them when they returned. But I kept hoping for the best, until I found out that Michael was fired -- of all things!!!

  • @QuolaFan1 Michael didn't get fired.Michael was told there was no storyline for him there after they finished up doing the Henry Chamberlain story. They were going to try to see if they were going to resurrect the story with him and Nola and that just never panned together, thanks to Megan McTavish(BITCH). So Michael left and decided to accept roles in other things. Including a cameo on B&B playing Sherman Gale. Don't ask.

  • @thia912002 Thanks for reminding me. It still sounds a bit like a backhanded firing to me though. He still didn't deserve to be treated that way, in my own humble opinion.

  • @QuolaFan1 I know and I totally agree with you,no arguements.I felt so sorry for Michael for the way he was treated.I always felt Lisa and Michael were treated poorly once they were wrote off the show. The whole situation stunk. Michael could easily still act with Lisa again,if he wanted to he could always invite her to fly to Vegas and do a bit guest part with him for his theatre classes. If he asked her,i know she would say yes,but only to him.

  • @rcb1952oct I remember those scenes to some extent. But I can never remember if she gave birth in the Hospital or not. The point is that Floyd was nowhere to be found and Quinton showed up like the "white knight," just when Nola needed him most.

  • @rcb1952oct I would check with retroglyph, for sure. Retroglyph has always had a way of having material I have never remembered seeing before and it makes even myself go "Wow". i have seen the lost footage of when Nola first started working for Quinton and don't remember that.So i figured someone has to have the scenes when Nola gave birth to Stacey, with Kelly Nelson's help on the way to Cedars(in the ambulance). She had a fall at Thornway Road and went into labor during a storm.

  • @bsheffer1 I believe these were just recently uploaded in the absense of Quintnola being not able to upload for a few days. I am loving these rare clips. They manage to fill in the gaps to explain what happened when Nola was in LA with Gracie and then allows us to see the scheming that went on until Nola got home to Quinton.

  • @bsheffer1 Of course he does. He's been more of a father to that little girl, than Floyd's ever been.He has been there,as I said for her since the day she was born.

  • @thia912002 But at the same time, he also tried to involve Floyd as best he could. He didn't want Stacey to grow up without her father the way he did. But Floyd only showed ambiguity toward him at the best, instead of appreciating the help Quinton was trying to give.

  • @thia912002 Floyd was always so possessive of Stacey and nola but Nola only showed friendship to Floyd.Yes,Nola never forgot that Floyd was the father of Stacey, but Quinton showed more compassion to Stacey than Floyd ever could. At least Quinton could provide for Stacey,in a way a father could for his child.Even though Quinton wasn't the father,he certainly stepped right into the role quite well, and loved that little girl,as though she were his own right from the start.Quinton was a father.

  • I absolutly love seeing these lost episodes of what really happened after Quinton left Nola in Hollywood and came home to deal w/Rebecca.Such a treasure to see these clips. Thank-you.
