Not only does it sound like you learnt how to play with a deaf retard but I also think that sub is ABSOLUTELY SHITE. My computer sub sounds better than that. Anyway you cheap fuck. Learn how to play properly and spend some money on a real amp.

The volume of an amp has bugger all to do with whether or not it is SS or valve.....a key issue is the db rating of the speakers. Solid state amps usually have cheaper speakers with a lower db. A 100 db speaker is a lot louder than a 95db speaker. Conversely, a 50watt amps is not twice as loud as 25watt amp...the effect is logarithmic....having said that...just stick the drummer in another room.
I have one of these (VOX pathfinder). About getting over the drums. My solution is just have the drummer playing in the back room, usually works better.
i want a vox but other than this simple one they're all expensive with too many stupid gimmicks. I want a nice loud vox amp with simple controls at a good price. I won't buy this little one as I want something pretty loud.
I find that the CS9 is very "creamy". I think that you can find something more "shiny", but it would be colder I think. This one is realy "warm" in my humble opinion.
I came here to hear the amp but I'm fascinated with the stone walls. haha

When i use my reverb + chorus i get a Nirvanaish sound rather then this.

Buy the VOX VR30 R. I own one and it's exactly what you said: no stupid gimmicks, simple, loud & with a great tone! And the amp is not expensive...

but when you crank a SS amp it starts to sound like shit. So ya, it may be louder than drums, but will it sound good at that level? probably not.
although i didnt notice a ton of break up in this particular amp

@andreasxiv it has a line out that you can plug into a PA system and hear yourself over drums. the line out is pretty hot
