If it's comforting you to believe the reason USA have slyly lead NATO in Afghanistan was to bring peace and a better life to Afghan people, good for you. From my point of view, it's very naive and only serves to soothe your conscience. USA will never understand democracy can only be born from within and not mposed from outsiders. Furthermore, the invasion of Aghanistan has only further destroyed the country
The video is compelling but much of what needs to be done should be done covertly...not with a big troop presence doing things NGOs should be doing...building roads, vaccinating animals, repairing schools, teaching English to women, etc. Our military uniform should be reserved for offensive or defensive actions. We don't need the world to like our uniform; we need them to respect it. We have Marines, Green Berets and Seals who can handle the covert assaults agains the Taliban/Al Qaeda!
And even though it was "made by America" I wish to believe it's an America of the past and that it's politicians and people of today begin to understand the systemic character of this matter. The video shows this in such a simple and authentic way! Well done guys and good luck!
Nevertheless I believe that the people of Afghanistan need to be empowered to find their own solutions. They don't need us to come and fix them! Empowerment, not aid! What does Afghanistan want to become?
Thanks for sharing this critical information. I think people need to understand what is happening there and how it impacts us all, and you've provided some solid arguments.
Your argument makes sense: what happens there ends up around the globe. Extremism anywhere is a threat to everywhere. But what drives the extremism and does force mitigate or inflame resistance? I don't mean to simplify a complex issue. Couldn't the same be said for the Palestinians, all they want is x, y, z, so let's help them. But there is no U.S. help for them, and most are just like the people in your video. Just thinking out loud as I begin a lesson on violence in the mid east.

I know how you feel about things being fed to people, But honestly, I was with the guy who made this video for 6 months. He's telling the truth.
