i wanna say SP for me. i need to feel WEIGHT in my hands, and the foldy-ness of it has a certain charm. plus, i think i need the SP or Advance to play Battle Network 4.5, so that's a plus.

I think GBA SP is better, because it has a large display screen, but it doesn't have that backlight, still it has a Legend of Zelda edition, and the controls are not bad.

yeah its about as bright as the gameboy micro

and is nice but i like the sexiness of the micro, instead of having the light on or off, it goes dim and bright, both really bright.

i prefer the micro anyday, because i love the picture on it, resolution and brightness. i dont let the size bother me, if i want a larger screen ill just grab my ds lite. the micro isnt bulky in my pocket, i use headphones anyway, and i hate trying to see in that dark sp screen. only drawback is that it will not play original gameboy games, id love to see them on that bright screen

gba sp isnt 80$, i dont know how much it is but the orignal ds phat before they got rid of them were 80-90$, so there is no way sp is 80$, but w/e not that big of a deal i guess

I own a DS anyhow and the idea to get a very tiny device like the micro does sounds good to me nevertheless the limitations.

I'd only like to know from somebody who tried it, how's playing the "hikaru no go" games (they are two, in japanese, for "go" geeks... hope there are some) in the tiny screen of the GB Micro. I wonder if the 19x19 board can be seen enough well to play a decent game. These are the GBA games I'm most interested into.

Thank you. It is not an anime gay anyhow. It's inspired by a manga but is a go-game (kind of chess, a game of strategy for two).

The game board is pretty tight and overwhelmed thus my worry for the micro screen.

And for the GB, I don't really need a cheep one (already own a DS), but a very small one.

I like the Micro better. The screen isn't as small as everyone is making it out to be. I can read text on RPGs just fine even from an arms length. Its also much more portable and looks a lot better then the SP. You complained about the adapter for Pokemon but you forget you also have to buy an adapter just to use a pair of headphones on the SP.

i have a gba and a micro and a dslite and i relly like my micro the most :)

I also have gba,sp,ds and micro is definitely the best one.

1) i use a flashcart to carry around a 100+games with me, including emulated GBx games.

2) the screen has awesome dot pitch and is much clearer/sharper than an SP

3) the DS is way too big to carry around with me _everywhere_ i go.

ok so the micro has a higher res- but it also way smaller so you end up holding it closer to your face because aven though its a better screen you will want a bigger screen and because things that have not so good res- the farther you look from it ,it wont seem so bad

I'm not going to argue how you hold the micro, but i definitely don't hold it up to my face. i don't have to because its perfectly clear screen.

i also noticed you were completely wrong about the brightness levels, the SP only has 2, the micro has 5.

also trading pokemon with a micro is exactly the same as a with an SP. there is only one sio-port on the SP, i don't know why you say there are two. the second port is power and audio.

also i don't know if you noticed, but the DPAD on the SP is retarded. ever try playing a fighting game on it? You can't press up, without hitting left or right - and good luck with full circle or dragon punches.

another gripe with the SP backlit, is they screwed up the gamma completely. all the games look like they've been through a photoshop with the saturation all the way up. they fixed that with the micro, now FF and Zelda:MC look perfect and not washed out.
