  • did you use any other equipment or literally just the lens and camera...?

  • why is the sky so pretty

  • very cool however... when i usually do 30 second exposures of stars i get star trails... how did you stop that happening????

  • @dannyday58218195

that is exactly what I like to know also

  • @PedroEluno well, im tempted to believe that as the lens is so wide, star trails dont pick up as easy because your not as zoomed in, as compared to, for example, a 300mm lens where even the slightest movement would be picked up on

im getting this lens soon anyways so ima gonna play about and see for myself :P

  • Look into that sky and see hundreds , of billions of planets with life. Don't for one second think we are alone in the universe.

  • Did you active noise reduce function? If didnt how did you manage the noise dots on the pictures? Once I switch it on, it will take me another 30 sec to deal with the noise reduction process, but the quality of the picture is not great if I left it off....

  • this is cool

  • fake!

  • @loko321123

    how so?

    Shut up you fool.

  • @08CJ11 :(

  • @loko321123

    You brought it upon yourself.

  • what iso and lens aperture?

  • I think there is life out there.

  • all this from a bang ?

    all this came from

    a dot basically

  • no words that can describe the beauty of the night sky but if anyone can....then go fuck yourselves

  • Where can i see a Milky Way in California ?

  • @DrKush4ever straight up. Pretty much all the stars you can see at night are part of the milky way. But to see the core like harles shows the best bet is download a program called stellarium it's free and it's brilliant. !

  • Very nicely done! I really like the effect the fish-eye has on the clouds. Hoping to do some night time lapses soon as well.

  • our galaxy, beautiful. Seems so immense until you see the simulated/extrapolated "cosmic web" image, and realize that our entire galaxy is just a tiny dot in a cluster, which is within a supercluster, which is within a filament among countless other filaments. awe-inspiring.

  • Thank-You

  • Make more videos! lol

  • wow thanks for all the tips i'll def post a vid response to you once ive done it (if it turns out ok, bit worried about my battery life but we shall see, will have to play with exposure settings too! thanks andy

  • so do you expose for 30 seconds at how many intervals? Once a minute?

  • @Designandrew 30second exposures , two per min. one after the other

  • Wow! Fantastic video! Thanks for sharing!

  • I really love your vids but I don;t like this lens, way too fish eye..

  • @Designandrew Thank you. Yeah I only use this lens for night time lapses becasue it allows me to get more of the stars in the frame. Some like it, some don't. To each his own.

  • @Harles99 hey does a standard battery last all night? Does the camera turn off between exposures? We've got great weather and no moon tonight so I'm thinking of trying to do this tonight (australia) I've got a canon 400D I'm going to download some software and hopefully it will allow me to set timed exposures, ive only got a 4GB cf card, takes about 700 large pics, so maybe ill do it every 40 seconds over eight hours, or 30 seconds over 7 hours. If i manage Ill post a vid! Thanks

  • @Designandrew i use a battery grip and that usually gives me about 10 hours of use. when i use just one battery it usually last for about 5hrs. I turn off the LCD preview feature, so that after each pic is taken the image isnt displayed on the cameras LCD screen. It saves a lot of battery power! I hope sure hope you make a video, i love watching star time lapses from the Southern Hemisphere. If you need anymore help let me know!

  • @Harles99 ok 5 hours is ok, I'll just leave it go as long as possible. I'm trying to get the canon EOS utility so I can shoot auto, I did find another program DSLR remote pro I might try that, what do you use?

  • @Designandrew I use a Satechi Remote timer for canon cameras

  • Very nice i hope to some day be able to get time to just sit back and enjoy some star watching again.

  • Wow that is amazing..

  • Its a mazing. Love it.

  • Great sequence! I'm just getting started with my 5DMk2 - looking forward to some awesome starlapses :-)

  • wings of redemption

  • First, I didn't see Uranus in the video and second, since space is infinite, I CHOOSE THAT THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE IS ME... Anyway, very nice video, makes you think a lot of things...
