  • now thats a helicopter i was thinking of getting the MCX i have a syma (dont make fun of me)im just cheap, but im deffinitly thinking of going for this puppy

  • The best flying video on you tube!

  • Is it fun to fly?

  • @matrobsti It's a helicopter, so yes. It's fun. ;)

  • 3 people don't know how to fly their mCX.

  • i second that...the msr does not hover it just picks a direction while you frantically try to counter it lol

  • @thelaughingman79 You must have a different brand of mSR that I do then. It's crazy stable compared to a "real" heli. ;)

  • all you need for the MSR is a DX5 and that humming is just the GYRO doing work... these things are great but def are prone to a kinda rolling circle after a while ... they just go threw 5-in1 units like cany also 56.99

  • @Air2Air100 Yep, you definitely don't need the DX6i, but I had one handy, so... :)

I'm still on the original 5-in-1 unit after a year of playing.

  • you don't have any toilet effect? i know many people do...that includes also ME...it's driving me crazy

  • @rogermorsee Nope, never have. I've had it happen with other helis though, usually because of worn out dampers. I guess that's not the cause on the mSR. ;)

  • There are tons of fixes available on the internet for TBE. If you go through them all and you're still having a problem with it, chances are you're just spending too much time hovering and fretting about hovering and not enough time FLYING.

If you want to hover, get an MCX.

  • is this blade really this stable? or do you need to set it up to be this stable?

  • @pofrani It is not as stable as the coaxial mCX, but what you see is totally stock. NOTE: The cheezy transmitter that comes with the RTF version completely SUCKS. It makes it 2x as hard to fly as it should be. I'm flying it with a "real" transmitter in that video (Spektrum DX6i). It makes a huge difference.

  • Really cool flying! Just got 1 this morning had a couple of batteries and im amazed at how stable and fast this little baby is, but i hope to be as smooth as you soon lol.

  • Props for this video, really nice Justplanechris

  • Great video! I think I was most impressed with the fact that the heli ran continuously for about 7 minutes on a single battery. Can't wait to get mine, thanks.

  • The DX6i is a decent radio, but the DX7 has more programming options. Either one will be fine though. I use my DX6i for mSR and simulator duty. My main radio is a JR X9303.

  • Does it fly so smooth because of the better mix setup of your radio? I'm thinking of getting a Dx6i.

  • I'm not using any special mixes. The DX6i just provides finer control because of the higher quality stick. Or that's my theory anyway. It is much harder to fly smoothly with the cheezy stock transmitter.

  • how to you like this heli? i thinking about getting one as well as a DX6i

  • Nice! I have one as well and its a lot of fun. It was my gateway heli actually... after getting it, I got a 450 pro and am learning to hover.

Anyways, I laughed when I saw you taunting the camera/your wife. I like to use my mSR to cool my cats off with the downwash when they're um.... hot... and need cooling off... they seem to need that a lot since I got the heli ;)

Have fun, and thanks for the podcasts!

  • Too funny. :) My cat leaves the room as soon as I spool it up, and I've never "cooled her down" with it. Honest!

  • Big fun for little money

May be the sound of the Walkera CB100 is "smarter"

  • I love this thing!!!! I've learned somuch about helis with it. i think that its a good trainer heli for beginners. I love to fly outdoors with it!!!

  • Yep, I think it's a great primary trainer. I have fun with mine too. :)

  • i have this heli .. is fun and good :) nice fly .. :)

  • This is a great heli, I got mine on friday, nice flying Chris and great vid Liz :-)

  • I'm trying to get it to do a Loop with no success.... Do you think it could do it being fixed pitch?? Check out my MSR vid's if you get a chance.... Hope to see more of you flying!!! Very very smooth!!

  • Thanks! Smooth flying is what I try to do with all my stuff. I'll check out your vids for sure.

I've seen a couple of posts on HeliFreak where they say it will do a sort of loop/backflip if you dive it fast and yank full backstick at full power. I don't think I'll try it, I have other helis with which to do aerobatics. ;)

  • there is a video on here with a guy who put a mia nano body on his and it loops

i doubt it had much to do with the canopy but he said sling it on advanced ball settings then get it as high as you can then full stick forward so it goes fast then full stick back,

make sure the rudder inputs are trimmed for higher blade speed or it might yaw at the peak of the loop then come fast earthbound with a bump

ild bet practicing turn stalls might prepare you better :) dunno if that helps :D

  • Awesome video!! Very controlled and smoooth flying. I've been flying for about 3mths now. Started on the Blade CP Pro. I know, wrong heli to start with but I learned the hard way!!! Lol. I just picked my MSR up last wednesday & having a blast pushing it to the limits. I've been flying the the Agressive mode after the first night of flying. For I doors I just do the dual rate and it calm the heli to about 50%....

  • I just know that it did indeed hit the mirror before it hit "Lizeebie"! I know that thing id fun... now I want one, but I actually need a Spektrum DX6i, noit because I don't have the right radio, but because I need a better radio. Hope yoiu continue to have a ball with it, Chris!

  • Yep, it bounced right off the mirror (going backwards). I cut power of course, so it just bounced off Liz too. :^) The DX6i is a pretty good radio, better than I expected it to be in fact.

  • It's fun. I'd say it is a good trainer for the newbie, and a fun novelty toy for the experienced heli pilot.

  • I'd totally agree with that. I'm a n00b, and am having more fun with the mSR than I do with my Rave and the Phoenix sim. The ~15 minute charge time for ~7 minutes x4 batteries of flight time helps with the fun factor. We need a full combat squadron of them at ARCA -- they can take the punishment (I've done way worse than bounce it off a mirror/wife).

  • I'm thinking "mSR pylon racing" would be hilarious. :)

  • They have that at my HobbyTown, its fun, but fast!

  • i like to think im experienced with fixed pitch helis and i actualy enjoy the msr than anything ive flown in my time with rc

you should get this baby out doors on a calm day, its such a blast, it handles like nothing else ive seen unless you go 3D theres probably nothing on the market thats so fast and stable like this

ive had mine for 4 days now and i still cant get over how fun it is lol

    great vid :)

good job lol pitty about the minor crashes hehe

  • hey were you able to loop your MSR?

  • Looks pretty neat, how did you like it?
