@topbluffa1 Ooh, I do doubt that. Unless I'm mistaken and I don't think I am, Daigo is one of the best if not /the/ best SF4 players in the world. The reason they spam Hadouken is because the fireball controls a lot of space, which is essential for fighting games. Basically, it's a good move and they don't give a shit about being cheap. :P Not many high tier players do in any game. A move is cheap because it's good, and if you want to beat a cheap move, find a way around it.

@TheMizuPanda, @topbluffa1 Zoning is only one reason for the fireballs. Do you not notice that Daigo hurricane kicks every time he just or does DPs when hes nowhere near his opponent?

He does it to build meter. That's the real reason. Every special move builds a little meter. Then it's all about knowing when the right to to use it is.

If all you see is spamming you're missing ALOT and I'm you wouldn't beat any high level player let alone Daigo.

I notice daigo (ryu) never jump towards momochi (ken). And When ever Momochi jumps towards daigo, daigo punishes him with his shoryuken. I think Capcom reduced ken's Hadoken way to low. In sf2 the speed was about the same. I think its sad that Ken's Hadoken is only faster than Dan's and only the female characters.

Momochi made it easy for Daigo to hit him by being overly aggressive. Most of the time Daigo was waiting for Momochi. Daigo is the best, but Momochi should make Daigo work hard to land a hit, not make it easy.

Coming from a Ken player, it's no dispute that Ryu > Ken

If you pay attention, you'll notice Ryu is versatile in every aspect. He doesn't necessarily excel in one or two, but he doesn't fall behind in any either. The fact he is so well balanced and has more tools makes him better in comparison to Ken. What Ken has is strengths and shortcomings, as well as a different play-style.

in my opinion if momochi used ryu he stood a better chance... ryu has faster fireballs and knocks down on ex hit and more importantly more links to ultra specially in tight situations... when you need to land an ultra for round enders

@KellysterOverdrive ryu doesnt have faster fireballs then kens they are same speed and ken has better mix up options then ryu. the only difference is ultra as ryu can trade uppercut into his ultra and ken has to combo into it. PEACE

Which Street Fighter game are you playing? In SSFIV, Ryu does have faster fireballs, Kens are faster than in vanilla but are still not as fast as Ryus, and Ryu cant really trade into Ultra anymore, its character specific. So you still have to combo into it.

I have also been playing SSFIV since Day one, Ryu is one of my mains and I can tell you, trading to Ultra I, 95.9999% of the time RARELY, if not ever happens. The fireball thing is easy: I'll PM you the link. I'll be waiting for that cash... lol

That's a ridiculously simplistic view. Ryu also has better normals, better punishes, his tatsu and ex fireball knock down, Ken has the kara throw. Just because their moves look the same, does not make them alike. You've got to look at the moves properties.

Anyhoo, Momochi has Daigo figured out and vice versa. these matches pretty much boil down to which character is superior, not which player is superior. In my opinion, Momochi trumps Daigo when it comes to shotos. Momochi is a more cunning player
