This is a brilliant fusion (lulz) of all the Metroid intro motifs heard up to this track's release. I love the extension to the Prime-inspired sequences and it really does convey the cold, lonely isolation the series prides itself in. I believe it's coincidence that Other M's (sparingly used?) rendition of the title theme is similar to yours. :x

Also, look at iwaisan's drawing of Samus Aran on deviantART while listening to this piece. You now have the PERFECT image of her in your mind. :]

@ShadowSerrix Believe it or not, yes, it is still an ongoing project. Troid is still working away at the engine, and I'm still working on the music for the project.

We haven't bothered to update the website, as we want to keep the project small until it's ready for a significant release.

This video came out before Other M was even released. What part is it the same? If you mean the main Metroid motif, then yes, that is in there, as it is in every Metroid game (excluding Metroid II: Return of Samus, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption*).

*Though the last 8 chords of the title are the same, the lead notes are missing... plus, it's only one chord. ;>_>

As an ocremix frequenter, I'd say this isn't far from the level of quality they post. Really cool atmosphere. There's a metroid project in the community forum on ocremix, you should join it, make some mastering-able friends that way. XD

Hmm... I'm not sure. It all depends on when this project releases too. I would like MNM to come out first, but that won't be for a while.

This is a great mix, however it feels like it moves a bit slow and it only progresses. You should try changing up the arrangement.

1:10. That felt slapped on. The metroid prime theme doesn't follow the chords the piano and choir is playing.

This mix is great for the game, but I doubt it would be good as an OCRemix, as would any of my other mixes. They are made to be played in a game, or close to the originals.

When I posted this video, I was just showing my past experience. It wasn't an example to use in the project, as it won't fit. I have a better mix on the way that will work, that's purely piano.

My work does not differ enough from the original songs, exception maybe being this song.

That, and I have a lack of knowledge in mastering. I don't wish to submit anything until I take a music course.

Even then, I don't want this song in particular going up yet, not until MNM is complete.

Going to college. Right now I'm pursuing my own interests in gaming by making a Boktai Forum with sprite ripping as it's main focus.

College sucks, but that's only because I don't match up with the course I chose; as much as I thought I would, anyways. *shrugs*

I heard this a while ago, downloaded the MP3, and today I still listen to it ALL THE TIME. I mean it! I've never heard such an amazing, inspiring, spine-chilling, atmospheric piece in my whole life. It tells an epic story, only with music and not words. I never, ever get tired of it!

I'm pretty sure MP2D all ready has a composer. That, and they're working in MIDI, as they want to replicate SuperMetroid in every way possible, music included.

That, and my Prime work isn't nearly as good as my SM work. But thank you for the comments.

If they ever need my help, I'm sure they'll contact me. Why am I so sure? Because the lead programmer of MNM works on MP2D too.

There's actually a chance MNM and MP2D could be merged as well, due to the game engine. I'll be here if that happens.

Logic Studio comes with an assortment of sound effects. Some of them are just plain weird. I pretty much put 7 or so very weird, metroid-like sounds, and looped them.

As for the song itself, I'm just using the instruments that come with the program again.

To be honest, I'm not that good a worker. I've bailed out on several projects. In fact, the only project I've ever stayed on constantly is this one, and that's because the project leader is one of the main reasons why I've come so far in music.

If you can show me some progress, I'll leave you an answer. However, I'm sorry to say the likely answer is no, simply because I know I won't be able to finish the job. Plus, I'm trying to get out of video game music. Metroid is the one exception.
