  • Lies! You're just playing the original studio track! Lol, just kidding. This is actually extremely amazing! Wish I could do this...

  • Amazing. When I grow up I hope I become a great Guitarist like you.

  • These videos are great! TOP NOTCH SIR!

  • Seriously , that is cool and something to be proud of. A testament to your ear and thanks for sharring. Ehx rules.

  • Seriously cool - i keep coming back to it coz it's done so bl00dy well

  • 1:07 DUBSTEP

  • @technoguyx how dare you mention that word in a holy place

  • You really, really did a very good job. Amazing. try to do more pink floyd in the future

  • i want the job of just playing around with pedals all day to figure stuff out :(

  • can u use the iron lung instead of v256 and get the same sound?

  • @tomiclav

No theIorn Lung does not have the auto-tune function that produces the gliss effect.

    Just the V254 has it.

  • @Effectology are all your pedal in front of the amp or in the loop? if in front... is it better to be in the loop and if so could you tell me how to achieve it...

  • @kevenbelangerharbour All the Effectology shows have the pedals before the amp.

I use a clean Fender twin sound amp simulator. Use any thing or amp with a clean flat or neutral sound.

Then adjust the eq or tone controls for the proper sound with the effects.

  • LOL

  • whoever disliked this vid clearly fell upon it by mistake

  • this is so warm

  • this is fucking awesome

  • well what can i say? you're a genius, dude....

  • could u please make a sample cd with fresh sounds? i play not guitar but i love ur sound

  • wow thats pretty cool im subscribing to this channel lol i am going to try that trick with the phone. peace

  • Amazing!! Great!! Very very good!!

  • Man alive, his skill and talent not-with-standing, the patience the guy had to figure all this out is mind boggling. I have a bunch of FX pedals and get frustrated easily messing with them.

  • that was sick man really well done. can you show us how to make the sound that plays throughout empty spaces?? its made using a synth but it can probably be done on guitar too

  • Amazing!

  • Love those Ibanez Holdsworth signature guitars!

  • This is officially my favorite YouTube channel.

  • whew Bill you do some great stuff!

  • very good

  • You know, saying you only used a guitar and EHX pedals isn't totally accurate, you used a phone and a shaver.

  • VERY cool!

  • STUNNING!!

  • you get my thumbs up, that was great!

  • wow, you guys do some serious work. very sweet.

  • And... If i don't have any of those pedals......

  • damn man this is sweet

  • This is amazing!

    Top work!

  • epic

  • I would love to have all of these pedals to create all of these different textures and sounds... but alas, no cash. XD

  • great stuff

  • Welcome to the Earth! I knew we weren't alone!

  • What tone would Gillette Mach 3 razor give me??

  • @darrenw5094

    A sharp cutting sound

  • @Effectology Lol.....nice vid btw.

  • @darrenw5094 LMAO that was too funny man HAHAH

  • @darrenw5094 if its a dull blade, you'll get that scratching your itchy face effect

  • @darrenw5094 "

The best a man can get."

  • @darrenw5094 It gets you sounds from "The Final Cut".

  • Can the Hog do the other key/string parts?

  • @ureadmymind

    Yes!

There are sample settings for the HOG you can download at the EHX site.

Its on the product page for the HOG

  • .......Speachless........

  • DUUUUUUDE.... It was incredible!

  • Welcome to those machines

  • Dude bad fucking ass

  • Brilliant

  • Techniqually, this was done with just a guitar, EHX pedals, and a razor.

  • fucking awsome,,, respect

  • It's unbelievable what you can do just by changing the order and various combinations of these pedals. Makes me think there a lot of sounds that haven't been discovered yet. I've watched this video probably 30 times, and I just love how every little detail of this Pink Floyd track was recreated. Makes me wish I could have seen Pink Floyd back in the early 70's. Nice work on this video for sure - two thumbs up!

  • put Pink Floyd covers plz!!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome, but I'd see a few problems switching all the pedal chain and bringing shavers and phones on a live stage!

  • Haha, electric shaver... Sounds awesome though!

  • brilliant !

  • Shit!! ... HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!! Incredible.

  • I just threw all my Boss pedals out the window!

  • awesome video! Seriously good work.

  • love that old JEM

  • that was mind blowing.

  • 2:08 - what does the vocoder to portamento?

is not the transposition mode a normal pitch shifter!?!

  • the V256 can be set to glide between notes played.

The length of time it takes to glide between notes is fully adjustable from fast to very slow.

  • @Effectology How do you connect the guitar to the V256 so that it works like a guitar effect and not as a vocoder? What input/output do you use? Any adaptor necessary? If this is possible, then are also all the other vocoder functions available as guitar effects...? this would be awesome.

  • @drkam6

I use a XLR to 1/4 inch adapters to go in and out of the Mic input and output with a guitar.

Yes you can then use other features with your guitar!

  • Once again, thank you for these videos, HUGE resources! I can't wait to experiment with this combination of effects/the ones from the mellotron demo for my band Vanzetti.

  • you blow my mind man !!!

    keep those videos comin!!

  • Amazing! I want those pedals!

  • As always, AMAZING!

  • Every time I see these vids, it makes it harder and harder to shrink down the size of my pedal board and buy a synth, although, I'd need some sort of matrix switcher to reorder those effects all the time, my stage rig would be bigger than most of the venues I play.

  • From @Alu122112211221

The very first melody from 0:27 - 0:42, what song is that?

  • @Effectology

    @Alu122112211221

Its not from a song in particular.

I held a G chord with the HOG pedal in the freeze mode and ran that into a Stereo Memory Man in the reverse echo position.

This produce the gated tremolo effect.

  • @Effectology however it does kind of sound like shine on you crazy diamond

  • fantastic. after hearing those effects and knowing that it's possible for guitars, makes you want to buy 'em.

  • what power amp did you use?

  • @Alu122112211221

I recorded this clip using a clean amp simulator direct into the computer. No guitar amps were used. If you are using a guitar amp, set it for a very clean, flat or neutral sound when using the settings on the forum page

  • pretty amazing. I really really really like the synth effect

  • this really is quite amazing. keep these coming, great ideas.

  • Fucking rock on!

  • Wow. This has got to be the best marketing campaign I've ever seen. All of these Effectologies are great.

  • I just have to say......that is very impressive. Great job guys!

  • would it be possible to do that glide synth sound with the hog in freeze+gliss instead of the v256?

  • @CaptainErn

    Not like the V256

The HOG has a different sort of gliss.

The V256 does it just like an old mono synth.

  • @Effectology

well then that's one more reason for me to get the V256!

  • Bill - absolutely the best yet - Gilmour and Waters (and Mason) need to see this video. Amazing!

  • pure genius...5 stars...

  • Bill, this is the best yet. I'm in awe. Really great. The remaining Pink Floyd members should see this. I have to ask: what's what your telephone and the strange mouthpiece?

  • @aliensporebomb

    Hey Todd,

    Its a Sony phone.

  • Awesome! EH pedals rule!

  • Remington shavers have better tone.

  • @analogspam

    Only the vintage ones!

  • @analogspam LOL

  • Genius

  • I knew I bought that shaver for a reason... its ass for shaving but now I can sound like Floyd.

    SHAZAM!

  • That is pure genius. Well done!

  • lol a shaver

  • Awesome as ever!

  • i really love those awesome effectology videos. very inspiring. 5* :o)

  • this is experimentation... great video!

  • Wow!!! EHX,the best...

  • This is F*cking awesome!!!!!!!!!

  • the original lead sound is the Minimoog

    great work!

  • this is fantastic!

  • i love this vid

  • Wow. You nailed it Bill.

  • OMG that is sheer crazy genius.

  • Now that is awesome dude! :)

  • Gave me chills!!
