Ja, dat klopt. Ze schieten (een beetje) los in plaats van dat ze breken. Dat is de bedoeling ook, het is niet dat ze kapot gingen of niet goed vast zaten.
Nice video. For 4meters though, one should rather construct a real plane. I distinctly remember seeing a plane here in france powered by a small engine with 4m span and thick oracover covered wings.
In France, yes. In the Netherlands....no. Regulations are very different.
Besides that; model flying and full-scale flying are two different things altogether, I am not a wannabee pilot, I just enjoy building and flying model aircraft.
Oh, regulations must be quite similar in Fr and Hlnd but i think it is very easy to get a lightweight licence compared to rdinary small aircraft permit.
You enjoy building? Coll, that's exactly what i mean: you build small, then you'll build 5 times easier a big one, but then you want to fly it! I saw people flying hanggliders with rigid wing & i'm sure its production is equal to what u did. i build a small model now because i want to fly FPV :P i build from balsa...inventing the model -haha.
The license regulations are similar but getting a ULV registered in the Netherlands is al lot more difficult. And then there is insurance, running costs....Maybe when I'm old and rich.
I know for sure a lot of home-built aircraft in Holland have French registrations.
Please keep me posted when/if you start building yours :-)
Sure :) i'll send you a picture just for your curiosity, though i'm at the stage of finishing inventing/constructing the wings. It is not a glider however: shorter wings. On the other hand, i appreciate glider style of flying, i'm not into aerobatics so i hope this creature i lake will be more "floating" haha.
I've had this happen to me in a real glider, due to a component failure in the over-centre lock. If there is nothing to hold the airbrakes shut, they will suck open, due to the low pressure area over the top of the wing.
Nothing like a bit of adhoc asymmetrical flying to build your skillset and reflexes. My spoilers work a bit too well and are a little outboard, so Im a bit paranoid of that happening to just one wing. You did a good piloting job in the air. 4m hey, how much does that thing weigh? What's you motor setup? Cheers
The higher speed - generates enough lift across the wing to suck or lift the break up out of the wing. I had the same issue with mine. Had to rig up a stronger spring to hold them down.
they are malfunctioning doto to way the air is flowing over the brake. the brake is being literary sucked open by the fast moving air!

Zeg,
Bij de landing komt die vleugel precies los ?

Thank you! This was the only time I had trouble with the spoilers and it was completely my own fault (bad adjustment). They work very reliable.
See my other video for specs ("Gewalt ASW 20 4m Electro maiden onboard")

awesome video! I really like the on wing camera view. 5-stars!
