The transmission calls DKG in german DoppelKupplungsGetriebe (DoubleClutchTransmission) it's not the same like in a M3.

Has anyone heard any thing about the 135i M that is coming out in 2011? I'm not sure if its call M1 or not.

@modelslist It's official release date is Dec.12, 2010 (so like 2 weeks) I believe...for the US...called the 1 Series M Coupe :D

Oh, not a big deal, but it's DCT not DSG. DSG is the VW's acronym, for direct shift gearbox, and BMW have Dual clutch transmition :)

@palinex DSG is just the short form for the German word: DoppelSchaltGetriebe

also if it is a VW acronym it is absolutly correct to use it also with all other car brands as 'DoppelSchaltGetriebe only means who it works - nothing more... Even if other brands called it in another way to say DSG is absolutly right.

Wow it does shift nicely. You owned the black one with red interior than did a vinyl paint job on it right? You say that the transmission shifts much faster? Though on paper the step shifts only .2 seconds slower than the dct. Does it really feel that big of a difference? How do you think the 2 will differ with modding?
